Washington Mystics at Seattle Storm

Leg #1: Washington Mystics -3.5 (-110)

The Washington Mystics opened the season splitting their first four games. They are on the road today against a Seattle team heavily hampered by injuries to their frontcourt. Washington is tremendously equipped in size and length, which should prove to be most troublesome for the Storm.

Seattle is not one of the better teams in terms of efficiency compared to the rest of the NBA. Being limited in size and having a poor outside shooting game make Washington a clear favorite to win by at least four points.

Seattle failed to come away with a win in four of its six games. The Storm have allowed over 80 points in five out of six contests, while allowing opponents to connect on 42% shooting from the field.

Seattle will have little to no answer for the Mystics under the rim, which should create multiple opportunities for easy baskets. Washington is holding the opposition to an efficiency rating of 47.8%.

Leg#2: Sonia Citron 2+ Made Three-Pointers (+100)

The obvious choice would be to jump on one of the frontcourt players, given the disparity in size between the two teams. We totally understand if you feel more comfortable taking that stance. However, on this selection, the plus return on a volume shooter seems way too difficult to pass up.

Sonia Citron is knocking down an average of 1.3 baskets from beyond the arc. That, along with a rough performance in the last contest, is more than likely a catalyst for the positive return. Citron has not connected on two shots from three-point distance in her last three games. We feel that streak will be broken in this contest against the Storm.

Seattle is allowing 7.7 three-pointers per game through six contests. That includes only four in the last contest. Citron averages 4.2 three-pointers each contest and will have more than enough opportunity to finish with two baskets from deep against Seattle.

Leg#3: Flau'jae Johnson Under 14.5 Points (-116)

As of this morning, the lines for this contest are somewhat limited. Unfortunately, only a quarter of the players involved have lines for points.

Regardless of the restrictions, we think there is one player in particular who may provide a small edge. Flau'jae Johnson hit the mark for us in the previous contest against Connecticut on Friday. However, we are choosing to veer in a different direction today.

The total on her points line has increased. Given the opponent, her line today could prove a tad ambitious. Johnson has scored 15+ points in two out of six games for the Storm. The rookie guard is one game removed from scoring five points in 16 minutes on Wednesday against the Sun.

To put it mildly, Johnson is off to a horrendous start in terms of shooting efficiency. The young guard is only shooting 2.4% higher from the field than from three-point range. Johnson is shooting 32.8% from the field on 10.2 attempts per game.

The rookie out of LSU has only scored 15+ points in two contests - both against the Sun. Johnson is averaging 9.5 points in the four contests when the opponent is not Connecticut.
