(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)
Dallas Wings (-298) at Connecticut Sun (+240) | O/U 171.5 (-112/-108)
- Leg 1: Sun +6.5 (-108)
- Leg 2: Over 171.5 Points (-112)
- Leg 3: Azzi Fudd 17+ Points + Assists (-129)
The Wings (11-8) and Sun (4-15) meet in the league’s only nationally televised battle at Mohegan Sun Resort at 8:00 p.m. ET on Amazon Prime Video. Dallas looks to improve on a 5-5 road mark, while Connecticut tries to make some progress after going 3-7 in the first 10 home outings.
Dallas has cooled off a little bit lately, losing back-to-back games, including an 85-77 loss to Minnesota last time out, and is just 4-5 straight up (SU) in the past nine outings, failing to cover in each of the past five games. They’re just 2-7 against the spread (ATS) in their past nine contests, too, while the over is 4-1 in their past five games.
Connecticut has actually won back-to-back games, both at home, while covering as an underdog in each game. The under has hit, too, as the Connecticut defense has limited the opposition to just 60 points per game in the win streak. The Sun are also a respectable 5-3 ATS in the past eight games.
It’s difficult to fathom if you’re simply looking at the overall records, but the trends point to the Sun catching the points at home. And, let’s go high on the total. The sportsbooks have the total a bit lower because of Connecticut’s recent defensive run, but Dallas will be able to crack it for a good number of points.
For player props, let’s look to Azzi Fudd for a combo play, as she returns to Connecticut for the first time as a pro. She had 21 points last time out, while adding three assists and four steals. Fudd has 16 steals in the past five games, if you can find that offered anywhere. But we’ll focus on her points + assists combo, backing her to record a conservative 17+ combined points + assists.

Seattle Storm (+145) at Phoenix Mercury (-175) | O/U 167.5 (-110/-110)
- Leg 1: Mercury -3.5 (-115)
- Leg 2: Over 168.5 Points (-108)
- Leg 3: Awa Fam 6+ Rebounds (-106)
The Storm (5-15) and Mercury (7-13) meet at Mortgage Matchup Arena in Phoenix at 10:00 p.m. ET.
These teams met twice in June, with the Mercury coming away with a pair of victories. In Seattle, the Mercury won 72-68, while the Storm posted a cover as 7.5-point underdogs, as the under (160.5) cashed. In Phoenix, the Mercury spanked the Storm 93-73 as a 6.5-point favorite, as the over (162.5) cashed.
In that June 20th game, Seattle shot just 36% (25-of-70) from the field and 29% (8-of-28) from behind the three-point line. Natisha Hiedeman managed 20 points and four assists for the Storm, while she hit three triples. Flau’Jae Johnson added 13 points, while Awa Fam was good for 10 rebounds.
Phoenix shot 49% (31-of-63) from the floor and 34% (10-of-29) from behind the arc, as Noemie Brochant went for 16 points and 10 assists, while Valeriane Ayayi posted 18 points and 10 rebounds off the bench.
Seattle enters with back-to-back wins and three straight covers, with a 6-2 ATS mark in the past eight games. The over has cashed in five in a row, while going 7-1 in the past eight outings.
Phoenix has also won two in a row and three of the past four games, and is 3-1 ATS in the past four games, with a 3-1 mark to the over. Let’s back the Mercury to get the job done at home, while going high on the total.
For player props, let’s back Fam to get back on track. She was held to just one board against Atlanta last time out, as she was overpowered by Angel Reese and company. But, prior to that, she had six or more rebounds in five of the previous six outings, averaging 6.5 rebounds per game in the six-game span.
