New York Liberty at Portland Fire
Jonquel Jones Under 17+Points (-130)
We have been focusing on the New York Liberty over the first week, and it's been paying off tremendously. Of all the contests this evening, we feel sticking with the Liberty is the best course of action. The rotation has been quite straightforward, and we still have a small edge based on recent production.
As phenomenal as Jonquel Jones has played over a fantastic career, the wheels may be coming off the track a bit this season. The 17-point threshold seems way more indicative of prior success.
Jonquel Jones is averaging 24.5 minutes through the first two contests for New York. The veteran forward is putting up 11.5 points on 40% shooting from the field, and 2-of-7 from three-point distance. Jones is averaging 9.2 points over the last five games played.
Jones is shooting a woeful 31.7% from the field through the previous five games played. The forward for the Liberty has dropped in averages and points over the last few years, and that may continue throughout the 2026 season as well. It's a solid matchup for Jones; we don’t see the veteran reaching 17 points, as she has failed to do so in 10 consecutive contests.
Breanna Stewart 22+ Points (-127)
Breanna Stewart has opened the 2026 season with two back-to-back outings of 22+ points or more. The situation looks primed for another high-scoring output for Stewart. The veteran forward powered the New York offense, and absolutely has an opportunity to lead the team in scoring once again today.
Sabrina Ionescu will once again be out for this contest due to a foot injury, which will greatly open up the chance for Stewart to stack points. Stewart is averaging 21.6 points over the last five games, with five of seven games totaling 21 points or more.
Given the expected bump in usage and shot volume, the forward for New York can reach 22+ points in this contest. Stewart has only connected on one basket from beyond the arc out of eight attempts. If the three-point shot begins to fall, the result may be closer to 25 points in this contest for the UConn product.
Marine Johannes 16+Points (-132)
As is the case with Breanna Stewart, Marine Johannes continues to score at a high level. Johannes was on the floor for 37-of-45 in the overtime win against Washington on Sunday. The combination of playing time and success makes this option a solid leg to close out our parlay.
Johannes is scoring 21.0 points through the first two contests for New York. The veteran guard scored at least 17 points in each game, while shooting 50% from both below and above the perimeter. Johannes has knocked down 11-of-22 three-pointers.
Taking the plus money for four three-pointers is certainly on the table, considering the volume and efficiency from deep. Having said that, we are going to play it safe and just take the 16 points scored. The Portland Fire allowed 98 points to the Chicago in their first contest. Opportunities to score will be plentiful for Johannes and the Liberty in this contest.
