WNBA Same Game Parlays & Picks: Tempo vs. Valkyries (Tuesday)
There will be one contest across the WNBA this evening. Toronto matches up against the ever so formidable, Golden State Valkyries, for the second time in as many nights. Without any further preamble, let's jump right in to our favorite SGP for Tuesday, August 4. Make sure to read all the way through, as we will be providing a few alternative options if Marina Mabrey is out for tonight.

Toronto Tempo vs. Golden State Valkyries
Leg 1: Janelle Salaun 10+ Points (-297)
Janelle Salaun performed masterfully on Sunday against the Tempo, and looks to be in a fantastic spot to once again find success in the points department. Salaun led the contest with 24 points in 30 minutes on the floor. The young forward knocked down 9-of-15 attempts, with four three-pointers. Salaun has been one of the most efficient players in the league recently, posting a 70.5 true-shooting percentage through the last seven games.
The forward for Golden State has totaled 10+ points or more in six out the previous seven contests, including 24 and 26-point performances against Toronto. Salaun is scorching hot over the last few weeks, and taking an alternate that is 15 points fewer than what she is currently averaging through the previous two contests against the opponent is just the logical play.
Leg 2: Marina Mabrey Under 2.5 Three-Pointers (+107)
Marina Mabrey is being listed as a game-time decision after being unable to take the court for the last two games. While the expectation is that the high-volume scoring option will be available, the sportsbooks may have provided us with a small advantage on this three-point prop for Mabrey.
The guard for the Tempo has fallen short of making at least three baskets from above the perimeter in the last 3-of-5 games. Golden State is allowing 7.7 three-pointers on the season. Teams are only attempting 22.7 three pointers, while making 33.9% of their shots from deep. That number has dipped to 31% over the last three games. Mabrey has been dominating from downtown this season. Having said that, Golden State is highly efficient at not only limiting three-point attempts, opponents are barely making six three-pointers per game against the Valkyries as of late.
Leg 3: H2H Points: Gabby Williams & Marina Mabrey Under 33+ Combined Points (-135)
While not as profitable as the previous selection, Gabby Williams and Marina Mabrey have been assigned the tough task of reaching an incredibly high combined points total. Any contest involving the Golden State Valkyries will usually have somewhat suppressed lines for props and totals. A 33-point total between two players that have not exactly been models of good health recently is something to surely pique our interests.
Gabby Williams played 19 minutes on Sunday after missing the previous contest due to a need for rest, after the All-Star Break. As for Mabrey, the sharp-shooting guard has missed the last two contests due to neck discomfort. Williams finished with 15 points on Sunday. The forward for Golden State shot a perfect 3-of-3 from beyond the arc, a feat we do not expect to be repeated from a player that connected on 31% of three-pointers on 4.8 attempts in July.
Mabrey, as previously, stated is being listed as a game-time decision. We are expecting the veteran guard to play. However, certainly not at 100%. Mabrey is shooting 40.8% from the field through the last eight games. The guard for the Tempo relies heavily on volume shooting. If the discomfort becomes an issue, it's difficult to envision Mabrey finishing with 18 points or more. That becomes even more of a troublesome feat when you consider the opponent for tonight is the highest rated defense in the league.
Leg 4: Golden State Valkyries Moneyline (-900)
Golden State are currently 13.5-point favorites going into this contest against a struggling Toronto Tempo squad. Toronto is 13th in the standings as the WNBA season heads into August. The Tempo have dropped six consecutive games, and 4-of-5 of their games played on the road. Marina Mabrey was not on the floor on Sunday, yet given the extremely high spread on points, oddsmakers aren't very concerned her presence will make much difference.
Whereas, the Valkyries have won 10 of their last 13 games, as well as five straight home games. Golden State is 12-3 over the previous 15 contests, as well as 12-4 when playing in the Bay Area. The Valkyries picked up the victory early in July, and on Sunday when Toronto and Golden State matched up on two prior occasions this season. We expect a similar outcome today.

Julie Allemand 10+ Points + Assists (-258) – Allemand has finished with 10+ points + assists in 8-of-10 games. The guard for the Tempo is averaging 5.8 points with 5.2 assists through the last five road games.
Race to 25 Points: 4th Quarter: Neither (-165) – If this game unfolds as expected the Golden State Valkyries will not have to do much beyond take time off the clock and run set plays in the fourth quarter. Toronto will more than likely have their starters on the bench in the Valkyries have a large lead heading into the final five or six minutes of the fourth quarter.
