    Florida vs. Alabama

    • Start Time: 8:30 p.m. ET
    • Coverage: SEC Network
    • Last Meeting: February 6, 2025 - Alabama won 84-66

Florida (15-16, SEC: 5-11) earned the right to advance to a second-round matchup vs. No. 23-ranked Alabama (23-7, SEC: 10-6) by beating the Auburn Tigers (12-18, SEC: 3-13) 60-50 in first-round action on Tuesday.

The Gators went into the fourth quarter holding onto a four-point lead. While Auburn got within a basket on a few occasions, they were never able to take the lead as Florida pulled away in the final minutes of the game. Ra Shaya Kyle led the way for the Gators with a double-double (16 points and 11 rebounds).

But to compete with Alabama, they'll need to ask a little more from her and hope a few other players can step their games up. This is especially true on the defensive end of the court, where the Gators rank No. 301 in the country (70.7 points per game allowed). They'll have their hands full against Alabama's top-20 offense (78.9 points per game). However, Alabama did win both regular season matchups.

Alabama was a 15.5-point home favorite in the first meeting and had a 16-point lead heading into the fourth quarter. But Florida outscored the Tide 23-17 in the quarter, closing the gap to 10 points, 79-69.

The Gators were 7.5-point home underdogs in the rematch. They put up a better fight, trailing by just five at the break (32-27). But, once again, the Crimson Tide were too much for them as Alabama won 84-66.

Florida is not a bad team, but they are not on the same level as Alabama. They might keep it competitive for a quarter, but Alabama will lead at the break and pull way in the second half, covering the spread with ease.

    Pick: Alabama -13.5 (-108)
