World Baseball Classic Odds, Picks & Predictions: Sunday (3/12)
Groups C and D kicked off yesterday, with the USA, Mexico, Dominican Republic, and Venezuela making their WBC debut.
Some highlights included USA defeating Great Britain 6-2, while Colombia and Venezuela were able to pull off some major upsets.
Colombia defeated Mexico 5-4 in extra innings, while Venezuela won 5-1 against the Dominican Republic thanks to some big performances from Javier Baez and Francisco Lindor.
Today we get another loaded slate with seven games on the board.

Sunday’s Best World Baseball Classic Bets
When it comes to betting, I have my eye on team USA today.
Yesterday was a nice debut for the red, white and blue, but with their offensive talent on their roster, the expectations are much higher than what we saw yesterday. Team USA won 6-2, but they were 8.5 run favorites on DraftKings. Kyle Schwarber and Nolan Arenado led the charge as they combined 4-8 with 5 RBIs. Phillies’ Kyle Scwarber broke the game open with a 3-run home run in the 4th inning, and Team USA never looked back.
Tonight’s starting matchup features Nick Martinez for the USA, while Patrick Sandoval gets the nod for Mexico.
Nick Martinez spent time as a starter and reliever in 2022 for the San Diego Padres. In 47 appearances, Martinez posted a 4-4 record with a 3.47 ERA.
As for Sandoval, he posted a 6-9 record with a 2.91 ERA and 151 strikeouts last season with the Angels.
Team USA may have a slight disadvantage on the mound, but their star-studded lineup should make up for it.
Last night hitters 1-3 (Betts, Trout, and Goldschmidt) went a combined 1-12 and, as a team, left 12 men on base while batting .176 with runners in scoring position. I don’t see that happening again. I think the offense scores early and often tonight.
