WWE WrestleMania 41: Odds, Picks & Predictions
(Odds courtesy of BetOnline)
WrestleMania 41 Main Event Prediction: Cody Rhodes vs. John Cena
The match that has been a lifetime in the making: John Cena's WrestleMania farewell bout. The Face That Runs The Place is winding down a career in the WWE that began on a June 27th episode of SmackDown in 2002. Love him or hate him (maybe both), it's hard to deny the impact John Cena has had on (16 WWE World Titles) and off-camera (650 Make-A-Wish Foundation wishes granted) in the world of professional wrestling/sports entertainment.
It seems inevitable that John Cena will walk away from WrestleMania 41 as the WWE Undisputed Champion, which would result in a record-setting 17th World Championship title reign (he and Ric Flair are currently tied for the record with 16 apiece). It's honestly shocking that the odds for Cena to win are only -270. They opened at -250 and saw very little line movement over the past month. Cody Rhodes is currently priced at +180 to retain.
Not only would a Cena win cement him as the greatest WWE Champion of all-time and kick off the final leg of his storied WWE career, but it would also be his 11th WrestleMania victory. That would catapult him into second place behind The Undertaker and his 25 career WrestleMania wins. John Cena is tied for second with HHH (10 WrestleMania wins each).
There's a lot at stake for night two of WrestleMania, but it all seems to be setting up for a Heel John Cena to walk away with the gold, and for Cody Rhodes to begin a new chapter in his story.
Pick: John Cena (-270)
WrestleMania 41 Best Value Bet: WWE Intercontinental Championship
Oddsmakers haven't provided bettors with much value, with a lot of heavily juiced odds towards the presumed favorites (Jey Uso: -700, John Cena: -270, Bianca Belair: -120, Jacob Fatu: -300, etc.).
However, there is one match that makes the most sense in placing a wager on the wrestler with the longest odds, and that's in the four-way WWE Intercontinental Championship match between Bron Breakker (champion), Dominik Mysterio, Penta and Finn Balor. The current odds for this match are:
- Dominik Mysterio: -250
- Penta: +250
- Bron Breakker: +300
- Finn Balor: +850
A multi-person match is the simplest way for a champion to lose his belt and still come away unscathed, as they don't need to be involved in the finish of the match to lose their title. Dominik Mysterio is the odds-on favorite to walk away with the Intercontinental Championship, but this is the perfect opportunity to finally break up the current iteration of the Judgment Day and make Finn Balor look strong.
While a Dominik Mysterio singles title run would only catapult the son of Lucha legend Rey Mysterio Jr., a shocking win by Finn Balor could give a potential Dominik Mysterio vs. Finn Balor feud some juice. It could also be a way to thank Finn Balor for his long-running WWE career and make up for when he was forced to relinquish the WWE Universal title less than 24 hours after winning it in 2016.
This is a longshot bet after all, so be careful with how much you wager. Balor started with +550 odds to win, and has only become an even bigger longshot bet since.
Pick: Finn Balor (+850)
Best WrestleMania 41 Longshot Prop Bets
We have a couple of intriguing prop bet odds that look like they could be a fun way to get in on the WrestleMania 41 betting action. Let’s take a look…
Who Will Stone Cold Stun 1st?
Here's a list of the current betting odds of who Stone Cold Steve Austin will give a Stone Cold Stunner to at WrestleMania 41:
- The Rock: -500
- Roman Reigns: +200
- Pat McAfee: +700
- Solo Sikoa: +700
- Paul Heyman: +1200
- Travis Scott: +2800
- Tom Brady: +3300
The best way to game theory this prop is to consider the most logical match Stone Cold would "interfere" in at WrestleMania 41. The only answer is Cody Rhodes vs. John Cena for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
If we are banking on John Cena being accompanied to the ring by The Rock and Travis Scott, that leaves us choosing between which of the two eats a Stunner. Getting to The Rock as The Final Boss means having to go through Travis Scott first, making the rapper an enticing pick for this WrestleMania 41 prop bet at +2800 odds.
Pick: Travis Scott (+2800)
Will Glass be Used in Damian Priest vs. Drew McIntyre?
Anything goes in a Sin City Street Fight. Expect any and all weapons to be used - tables, chairs, the kitchen sink, barbed wire bats and, yes, even glass. This is a feud that has been building for over a year, ever since Damian Priest cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase on Drew McIntyre at last year's WrestleMania, leading to him becoming the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
It was only a few weeks ago, on the March 28th episode of WWE SmackDown, in which Damian Priest chokeslammed Drew McIntyre through the windshield of a car with his South of Heaven move. With glass already being involved in this feud, it's surprising to see the odds for Yes (glass will be used) at +500.
Pick: Yes (+500)
