2022 US Open: Elena Rybakina Betting Odds, Preview & Prediction

Seven women have won the U.S. Open in the last eight years, as only Naomi Osaka has won multiple titles in that span. Thus, the women’s game has significantly evolved and provided much more parity than Kim Clijsters and Serena Williams combining for six U.S. Open titles in seven years from 2008-14.

Speaking of Serena Williams, she is tied for the 13th-best odds to win this year’s title, but the storyline and backdrop for the entire tournament will be that this is her last U.S. Open, as she announced her retirement following the Grand Slam.

This is the first annual BettingPros Guide to the U.S. Open, where we will highlight several of the top contenders from both the Men’s and Women’s Draws.

Will an eighth different woman in nine years add her name to the list of U.S. Open champions? Will Serena Williams write a storybook ending for arguably the best career ever in women’s tennis?

Read on for our thoughts and predictions for Elena Rybakina at the U.S. Open in 2022.

Elena Rybakina U.S. Open History

Rybakina has improved her finishes in each of the first three U.S. Open appearances. Wimbledon is the only Grand Slam event where she has won at least three matches, as she has not made it past the third round in any of the other three. Rybakina defeated Aliaksandra Sasnovich and Carolina Garcia as the No. 19 seed in straight sets last year and was defeated by No. 12 Simona Halep in three sets in the third round.

Elena Rybakina Recent Form

Rybakina is just 4-3 after her breakthrough Wimbledon title. She is 30-15 this year and, aside from winning at Wimbledon, also made the finals in Adelaide earlier this year, where she lost to Ashleigh Barty 6-3, 6-2.

Elena Rybakina U.S. Open Predictions

Rybakina’s odds of winning the U.S. Open dropped from +1200 to +1700 after the draws were announced, as her draw is loaded with several top-notch players. Rybakina would have to beat out Aryna Sabalenka, Emma Raducanu, Belinda Bencic, Naomi Osaka, Paula Badosa, Victoria Azarenka, and Karolina Pliskova (those are all the women with odds of +1000 or shorter) to advance to the semifinals. However, the powerful Rybakina has the talent necessary to make a semifinal run, and given the strength of her quarter, her +550 odds to do so presents a good value.

The Pick: Rybakina to Win Her Quarter (+550 on DraftKings)
