2022 Winter Olympics Best Bets: Snowboarding (Halfpipe)
The 2022 Beijing Olympic games got started this week with a handful of events but kick into high gear this weekend and into next week. One sport that always dominates the highlights and attention; is snowboarding.
While there’s a handful of different events including slalom, big air, and slopestyle, the halfpipe is always a fan favorite. Let’s take a look at the event and who I like to take home Gold in both men’s and women’s.

Women’s:
Chloe Kim| -250 at DK Sportsbook
Chloe Kim is going to be a name you’ll hear quite a bit over the next few weeks, that is if you haven’t already. Winning Gold in 2018 at just 17 years old, Kim has won four more Golds at the World Championships and X-Games in the time since.
Kim’s status as one of the world’s best snowboarders got so large, she decided to take a break from 2019 to 2021 to focus on her academics, not touching aboard during that time. Now, not only does she come in well-rested mentally and physically, but already is one of the most marketable athletes in these games.
Look for her legend to grow in this one and the status of GOAT to be synonymous with Kim before these games are done.
Men’s:
Yuto Totskuka (JPN)| +300 at DK Sportsbook
While Kim and Shaun White will get much of the attention in the build-up to their respective events, Totskuka is a name to get familiar with. Coming into these games following Gold medals in 2021 in both the World Championships and X-Games, Totskuka, to me, isn’t getting the respect he rightfully deserves heading into these games.
With fellow countrymen Ayumu Hirano getting the most love from oddsmakers, look for Totskuka to slide into the top podium before this event is said and done.
