2022 Winter Olympics Best Bets: Snowboarding (Men’s Big Air)

The field of 12 is set tonight in Beijing, as the Men’s Big Air final will go off around midnight EST following last night’s qualifier. With some of the more familiar names including reigning gold medalist Sebastian Toutant [CAN] not having qualified for tonight’s final, this one is as wide open as any in recent memory.

Let’s take a closer look at where the value remains.

Red Gerard [USA]| +600 at DK Sportsbook

With the third-best qualifier score (158.75) and some of the best tricks of anyone in this event, Gerard is being overly discounted. At just 17 years old, Gerard earned a gold medal in slopestyle in the 2018 games in Pyeongchang and has all the tools to get it done in Big Air as well.

In qualifying, Gerard landed a switch backside triple cork 1620 indy on his first run, cementing his place in these finals. I like for the young American to find success tonight in Beijing as the door is wide open with some of the heavy hitters out of the field.

Max Parrot [CAN]| +250 at DK Sportsbook

One heavy hitter not out of the field is Canadian Max Parrot. Already having secured a slopestyle gold in these games, Parrot is one of the most accomplished Big Air riders.

With 6 X-Games golds, Parrot will look to round out his medal case with two great runs in this final. In qualifying, Parrot led all snowboarders with a qualifying score of 164.75 in part due to nailing a triple 1800.

Additionally, Parrot is considered one of the only riders remaining in this even capable of landing a quad 1800, which would all but seal the deal for gold tonight.
