The 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, China are off and running with the opening ceremony wrapping up this morning (EST) and a plethora of events well underway.
One category of events, snowboarding, gets underway this evening with the slopestyle event; but that’s just the beginning. Another terrific event parallel giant slalom gets underway Monday and that’s where we direct our focus for this one.

Ester Ledecka (CZE)| +135 at DK Sportsbook
Winning Gold in the 2018 games in not only this event but super-G in alpine skiing, Ledecka is the odds on favorite again and for very good reason. With that feat, she became the first person in the history of the games to win gold medals in two different sports in the same Olympics.
Looking back at her success in other competitions, she has four world titles in this event spanning from 2016 to 2019, all of this before the age of 25. Now 26, she comes into these games poised and well-rested as she’s been in the duration of her career.
Even despite splitting her professional time between two sports, Ledecka has competed in 14 snowboarding World Cup competitions since the last Olympics, finding herself on the podium in all but one.
The only question remaining for the Czech superstar is can she accomplish a feat that’s never been done, twice? My money is on yes, as she faces a field in this event largely here for the first time.
