2024 Würth 400: NASCAR at Dover Odds, Picks & Predictions
Seagulls atop a casino in the background, a spring breeze coming off the Delaware Bay and the sound of stock cars diving into corners at 170 mph - This is Dover Motor Speedway, perhaps the most unique track on the NASCAR Cup Series circuit.
It’s also one of the more advantageous opportunities for motorsports bettors. And I’ll be in the thick of it all, so make sure you’re subscribed to the In-Between Media YouTube channel to keep up with all the at-track betting insights and probably some after-hour shenanigans.
Whether or not we cash this weekend, I’m forever grateful for the opportunity to cover the sport I love, especially at a place as special as the Monster Mile.
That said, let’s take it to ’em this week with my best bets for the 2024 Würth 400 and full weekend card for Dover.
2024 Würth 400: NASCAR at Dover Odds, Picks & Predictions
Top 10: Chris Buescher (+110 via BetRivers) | 2u
The No. 17 car, driven by Chris Buescher, might offer some of the best value in the placement prop market this week. The Prosper, Texas native finished P9 here a year ago after placing P8 and winning the pole in 2022. That’s good for fourth in the Dover Next-Gen total speed rankings, courtesy of ifantasyrace.com.
Buescher has also performed well at the closest comp tracks to Dover, placing P3 and P10 at the Darlington races a year ago and finishing P7 at Bristol this season. He’s also faired well on occasion this year in the 650-horsepower intermediate package the Cup Series will run at Dover, including a runner-up finish at Phoenix in March.
Buescher has become one of the unsung wheelmen at Dover. Aside from the Hendrick Motorsports (HMS) and Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) drivers, he is one of the few with enough upside to win the race. All we need is another T10 to cash this bet.
Top 10: Josh Berry (+210 via FanDuel) | 1.5u
Dover is just one of those tracks where you either have it or you don’t. Josh Berry definitely resides in the former. Berry won at Dover in the Xfinity Series in 2022 and has finished runner-up in his other two starts in the series here. He also filled in for Alex Bowman in the No. 48 car a year ago in Delaware, running 84% of laps inside the top 15, good for 11th in the total speed rankings and a T10 finish.
In addition, Rodney Childress, Berry’s crew chief, knows how to rig a hot rod for the Monster Mile. Prior to last year, Kevin Harvick finished inside the T10 with this No. 4 car eight straight times.
Berry led 25 laps and finished 12th at Bristol, our closest comp track this season. With him being even better at Dover, I think he can squeeze out two more spots to score a T10.
Tyler Reddick (-130 via ESPN BET) vs. Joey Logano | 2u
However, you can do it this weekend, fade Joey Logano. The 33-year-old is 25th in the Dover Next Gen total speed rankings, resulting in a P31 and P29 finish the past two seasons.
While Tyler Reddick doesn’t stick out at Dover, he finished P7 last year in his first race in Toyota equipment. Reddick also ran 90.3% of the laps inside the top 15, as opposed to just 17% for Logano. The No. 45 car is 3-1 against Logano’s Penske Ford Mustang using this intermediate package this season, fishing runner-up at Las Vegas, P4 at Texas and P10 at Phoenix.
I’d drink the juice on this play all the way down to -145 and would be interested in any other matchups against Logano.
