March Madness Round of 32 Same Game Parlay Bets

(1) Alabama vs. (8) Maryland

Leg 1 – Maryland +8.5 (-118) 

Alabama took care of business against Texas A&M Corpus Christi. But Maryland’s a whole different animal.

The Crimson Tide will start Brandon Miller, who has been dealing with a groin injury. However, the SEC Player of the Year didn’t score a single point last game and doesn’t look too comfortable on the floor.

I’m concerned a bit. I think Alabama will pull away with the win, but this could get a bit scary towards the end for Alabama backers.

Maryland can defend well. The Terrapins aren’t Alabama on the defensive end, but they’ve held teams to 32.4% from deep and 47.4% from inside the arc. This defense was trailing early against West Virginia and then locked down and defeated the Wolverines in one of their biggest comeback wins of the season.

Maryland’s going to stick around. They probably don’t want to get down early because coming back against Alabama will be a bit harder than it was against West Virginia. But the Terps are active on the glass and shoots over 52% from inside the arc. Still, the defense will need to show up for the Terps to even come close to pulling off an upset. They’ll be a bit short but will finish the game with a cover.

Leg 2 – Under 142.5 (-115) 

I don’t think Alabama is going to shine on the offensive end tonight. Yes, they’ve shot 34.2% from deep and 54.4% from inside.

And yes, they’re coming off a massive performance offensively against Texas A&M CC. But Maryland’s defense will earn some turnovers, deliver on the glass, and prevent Alabama from getting incredible looks.

Meanwhile, Alabama has held teams to just 28.3% from three and 41% from inside the arc. Maryland will have times in this game where they go on a drought. Maryland does this kind of stuff all the time. So a couple of droughts in this game from both teams will be all we’ll need to get the Under.

Leg 3 – Jahmir Young Under 15.5 Points (-113)

I already like this game to go under the total. Young has scored more than 15 points in just one of his last five games. He hasn’t stepped up as the senior scorer that he is. Don’t expect him to do that against Alabama.

The Crimson Tide are one of the best defenses in the nation, holding teams to 28.3% from downtown and 41% from inside the arc. Young won’t have any easy shots.

He took just five shots against West Virginia and scored one of them in 31 minutes. He’s not even looking for his shot at this point and had four fouls.
