Best NFL Week 9 Ladder Bets

(Odds courtesy of bet365)

Christian McCaffrey Rushing Yards

  • Over 76.5 Rushing Yards (-112)
  • 90+ Rushing Yards (+154)
  • 100+ Rushing Yards (+225)

Christian McCaffrey hasn’t had much success rushing the football this season. As a matter of fact, he’s had 140 rushing attempts for 490 yards, averaging only 3.5 yards per carry. In addition, his longest run of the season was a 15-yard rush. He’s made his mark in the passing game more this season. But that should change today.

McCaffrey is set to face a Giants team ranked 32nd in yards per attempt. The Giants also rank 31st in longest rush and 30th in rush yards. The Giants are giving up some big rushing gains this season, and McCaffrey likely won’t miss out on his opportunity today, either. Back on October 19th, McCaffrey secured 129 rushing yards on 24 rushing attempts. A stat-line like that, especially against the Giants, is very doable.

Michael Pittman Receiving Yards

  • Over 55.5 Receiving Yards (-112)
  • 70+ Receiving Yards (+172)
  • 80+ Receiving Yards (+255)

Michael Pittman had his best game of the season last week against Tennessee, earning eight catches for 95 yards on nine targets. He averaged 11.9 yards per catch last weekend and will now face a Steelers defense ranked 32nd in passing yards/receiving yards this season. The Steelers also rank 31st in yards after catch, 31st in receptions and 30th in pass attempts.

Daniel Jones should have a field day throwing the football to his Colts receivers. While Tyler Warren leads the team in receiving yards, Pittman leads the wide receivers in receiving yards and has the most receptions of any player on the team.

Chris Olave Over Receptions

  • Over 5.5 Receptions (-152)
  • 8+ Receptions (+200)
  • 9+ Receptions (+350)

Chris Olave has secured at least six receptions in 75% of games this season. After all, the Saints are 1-7 and usually trail in the second half. That forces the Saints to be more aggressive and throw the ball down the field.

With that said, the Saints have turned to rookie quarterback Tyler Shough to start instead of Spencer Rattler. Shough will more than likely use Olave as his blanket target. He’ll be most comfortable throwing him the football.

Olave has 503 receiving yards with 53 receptions and three touchdowns. He’s had at least 10 targets in six out of eight games this season. The volume should be there for Olave. If Shough is more accurate and better prepared, the Saints could get cooking with this Shough-Olave duo.
