Big3 Championship Picks: Triplets vs. Miami 305 (Saturday)
After nailing both semifinal bets last weekend, we’re back with a Big3 Championship bet this weekend.
It’ll be the Chicago Triplets against the Miami 305 for the 2025 Big3 Championship on Sunday, August 24, at 3:00 pm ET on CBS. The game will be held in the Addition Financial Arena in Orlando, Florida, following the All-Star game at 2:00 pm ET.

Chicago Triplets vs. Miami 305
The Chicago Triplets did their thing in the semifinals last weekend. Amir Johnson, Montrezl Harrell, and Chris Allen each scored in double-figures in their 50-38 win against the LA Riot.
Johnson and Harrell also contributed 16 combined rebounds, and each earned three blocks in the win. The team was terrific offensively, but the defense really showed up in the second half. The Chicago Triplets gave up just 16 points in the second half and won the game by a wide margin.
They’ve also done all of this without Jason Richardson, who had been the star of the league in previous seasons. Harrell even added more rebounds than Dwight Howard in that one.
Heading into this game, Harrell and Nasir Core each have 57 rebounds on the season. That’s tied for fourth in the league. Core also has 22 assists, which is also fourth in the Big3. In the latest win, Core scored just six points, but also added five rebounds and five assists. The Chicago Triplets boast considerable depth among the four players mentioned and Brandon Moss. The depth is why they’re still standing.
On the flip side, the Miami 305 squeezed past the Dallas Power after trailing by three at the half. Lance Stephenson and Michael Beasley scored 45 of the 50 points for Miami 305. Those two are easily the best offensive duo in the Big3. However, they lack depth. Mario Chalmers, Sean Williams, and Reggie Evans don’t contribute much on offense and are essentially afterthoughts on this team.
Stephenson and Beasley can easily carry the Miami 305 to a championship. However, I love the fact that the Chicago Triplets have more depth. That should lead to better defense down the stretch.
After all, the Miami 305 still allowed 20 points to Glen Rice Jr, 13 more to Paul Millsap, and gave up a double-double to Greg Monroe, who added 10 points and 14 rebounds. The Chicago Triplets should be able to get quality play from their five players, and when you’ve got five contributors compared to two, it’s much easier to win.
