An old-school AFC rivalry will resume Monday night in Nashville, TN, as the top-ranked Bills visit the Titans. While both teams are coming in off of wins, perhaps no team had a more impressive week five performance as the Bills dismantled the Chiefs on the road as the nation watched on.

Overview
Coming into this one averaging 34.4 points per game, the Bills haven’t scored less than that number since their opening week loss to the Steelers. Ranking inside the top 10 in the league in total yards (#8), passing yards (#9), and rushing yards (#5), there isn’t much this offense can’t do, and the scary thing is they’re seemingly just getting started.
The defense, however, has been the truly elite unit. This week, they rank #1 in total yards (251.8) allowed and #2 in pass yards allowed at just 173.4.
For the Titans, an opening week loss vs. the Cardinals have been followed up by winning three of four, most recently blowing out the Jaguars on the road 37-19. They are again being carried by All-Pro running back Derrick Henry and their rushing attack, who ranks #3 in the league at 167.8 yards per game.
The Titans have shown weaknesses on the defensive side of the ball, specifically in the secondary, where they’re allowing 264.6 yards per game.

Bottom Line
If it not for a bizarre Week 4 performance vs. the Jets, this Titans team would be 4-1, with their only loss coming against the undefeated Cardinals. While the Bills are undoubtedly the best team in the AFC as of this writing, I think there’s a perception their win vs. Kansas City last week was against the Chiefs of hold, not the fledgling team we see this season.
I think we see a somewhat inflated line after an overreaction of last week’s results.
While it might be best to wait for a better number, I’m taking the Titans and the points in this one.
