Champions League Semi-Final Best Bets
(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)
Arsenal (+115) vs. Paris Saint-Germain (+235), DRAW (+245) | O/U 2.5 (-115/-110)
The action gets underway on Tuesday, as Arsenal gears up to host Paris Saint-Germain in the capital city of England. The Gunners smacked Real Madrid 5-1 in the quarters, while the Parisians edged out Aston Villa in a 5-4 aggregate. This first-leg showdown kicks off at 3:00 p.m. ET from Emirates Stadium in London, England.
I'll gladly take a +115 flier on Arsenal to win the first leg on their home pitch. I wasn't sure how they'd hold up against the reigning champions, but limiting Real Madrid to just one goal over 180 minutes has made me a believer. Mikel Arteta's men now boast the second-best defense in the Champions League, where they're conceding only 0.6 goals per match. This has been the story for them this year, as they're also the best defensive club back home in the Premier League (0.9 goals allowed per game).
Interestingly, the defense has only gotten better at home, where the Gunners have allowed just two tallies across six home matches this term. They boast a +12 goal differential in London. Not to mention, the motivational factor that comes with wanting to avoid going back to Paris next week in a draw/losing position. This Arsenal squad is dialed in at the moment. It's hard to pass up on the plus-money payout that comes with them playing in front of their home fans.
Bet: Arsenal Moneyline (+115)
Barcelona (-155) vs. Internazionale (+400), DRAW (+310) | O/U 2.5 (-175/+135)
As for Barcelona, they're currently the betting favorites to win the Champions League at +200. They're fresh off a comfortable 5-3 aggregate victory over Germany's Borussia Dortmund, while Inter Milan also handled a German club, beating Bayern Munich 4-3 on aggregate. This match is scheduled for Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. ET from Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys in Barcelona, Spain.
This is an excellent clash of styles, as Barcelona's top-ranked offense will square off against Inter's fortified defense. However, the Italian side showed some holes in their clash against Bayern. They conceded three times over the 180-minute aggregate, while posting an expected goals allowed (xGA) of 3.8.
If there's any team that can expose them even further, it's a Barcelona club that will have the home-field advantage in the first leg. This offense has been a wagon, scoring 37 goals in 12 Champions League matches. At home, they have the league's best goal differential (+17), where they've also conceded only four goals in six matches. This -155 moneyline may look a little lofty, but I almost feel that it should be out further toward the -175 range. I'll lay the juice with Barcelona to depart Spain with a lead after the first 90 minutes.
Bet: Barcelona Moneyline (-155)
