2025 College Baseball World Series Picks: Friday
(College World Series odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)
Kansas (-145) vs. Creighton (+114) | O/U 12.0 (-115/-115) CWS Picks
Starting Pitcher Matchups:
- Kansas: Dominic Voegele, RHP (7-4) | 91 Innings | 5.34 ERA
- Creighton: Dominic Cancellieri, RHP (2-1) | 51 Innings | 1.94 ERA
It’ll likely be the battle of the Dominics in tonight’s Kansas-Creighton matchup. Kansas has posted a higher batting average this season and faced a much tougher strength of schedule. Yet, over the last 10 games, Creighton has performed better overall.
The Blue Jays are red hot, hitting .304 over the last 10 games. They’ve also added a .328 wOBA on offense. Meanwhile, the pitching has limited teams to a .387 average over the last 10 games, while Kansas has allowed a .690 average.
In addition, Creighton’s Dominic Cancellieri has been sensational this year. He’s thrown more than 50 innings and has a 1.94 ERA with a 1.25 WHIP. He’s struck out more than one batter per inning this season and has an xFIP of 4.42.
Meanwhile, Kansas will likely pitch Dominic Voegele, who has a 5.34 ERA with fewer strikeouts and an xFIP that is higher at 4.78. Additionally, Creighton’s bullpen has outperformed Kansas’s this season. Creighton has several pitchers who can strike out at a high rate. Kansas doesn’t.
Let’s ride with Creighton at +115 on the Moneyline.
Pick: Creighton (-115)
Saint Mary’s (+300) vs. No. 8 Oregon State (-425) | O/U 13.0 (-115/-115) CWS Picks
Starting Pitcher Matchups:
- Saint Mary’s: Dylan Delvecchio, LHP (6-3) | 65 Innings | 4.85 ERA
- Tennessee: Eric Segura, RHP (8-1) | 51 Innings | 4.24 ERA
Saint Mary’s is red-hot offensively heading into the regionals. They’ve hit for a .367 average with a 1.102 OPS over the last 10 games. In addition, they’ve hit a .374 wOBA and have kept strikeouts pretty low over that same span.
Oregon State hasn’t been nearly as effective on offense, hitting a .277 average over the last 10 games. They’ll face Saint Mary’s Dylan Delvecchio, who has a 4.85 ERA but a 1.33 WHIP. He has a 4.50 XFIP, which indicates that he has been better than his ERA overall.
On the other hand, he’ll take on Eric Segura of the Beavers. Segura has walked 5.6 batters per nine innings this season. He’s also walked more than five batters per nine innings in his last three games combined. Ultimately, he has a 3.86 ERA over his previous three starts, but his low strikeouts and high walks are not ideal heading into tonight’s game against the Gaels.
After all, the Gaels have been one of the best offenses in college baseball. They’ll eventually take advantage of guys in scoring position. That said, Oregon State’s bullpen performed very well this season. If Segura gets taken out of the game early, Saint Mary’s hopes and dreams will dwindle. The Gaels have to take advantage of Segura and Oregon State early. If they do that, the Gaels should at least be able to cover the 3.5-run line.
Pick: Saint Mary’s +3.5 (-105)
