Saturday’s Best College Football Anytime TD Scorers (Week 10)
No. 9 BYU Cougars at No. 3 Utah Utes
Utah has a tough defense to score on. But BYU’s offense will be up to the challenge. The key, of course, will be quarterback Bear Bachmeier. This season, he has run for eight touchdowns in eight games, all five of them coming in the second half.
Bachmeier is a gamer; someone who often plays his best game against tougher competition. So, I expect him to be an integral part of the run game. Because of that, and because Utah has surrendered eight scores on the ground, I expect him to score at least once.
With seven of his eight touchdowns coming in the first half, Bachmeier’s first-half anytime touchdown is a solid value play.
Picks: Bear Bachmeier Anytime Touchdown Scorer (-105 at DraftKings Sportsbook)/First-Half Anytime Touchdown Scorer (+215 at DraftKings Sportsbook)
No. 19 Iowa Hawkeyes at Northwestern Wildcats
Aidan Chiles ranks No. 13 nationally in rushing touchdowns and has scored at least once in every game this season. With a strong offensive line and an offense averaging 200 rushing yards per game, expect his team to prioritize the run against Iowa.
Iowa's No. 4 run defense allows just 79 yards per game and has surrendered only two rushing touchdowns this season. That normally gives me pause, but the Wildcats are a solid rushing team and will still look to establish the run.
Since he has scored in every game and Northwestern has a solid run game, I consider this prop at +155 a solid value play; +125 or lower, not so much.
Pick: Aidan Chiles Anytime Touchdown Scorer (+155 at FanDuel Sportsbook)
No. 1 Miami at No. 11 Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Mark Fletcher Jr. has recorded 10 touchdowns (nine rushing, one receiving) in seven games, all in his last six. Against a solid Notre Dame run defense, scoring won’t be easy. When the opportunity arises, you know the team will lean on its best players. Fletcher leads the team with nine rushing touchdowns in his last six games. Eight came in the red zone and seven at the goal line.
With Malachi Toney out, I wouldn't be shocked to see Fletcher help pick up the slack. His red-zone usage makes this a solid play.
Pick: Mark Fletcher Jr. Anytime Touchdown Scorer (+125 at DraftKings Sportsbook)
