Saturday’s Best College Football Anytime TD Scorers (Week 7)
(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)
No. 4 Ohio State Buckeyes vs. No. 5 Indiana Hoosiers
Jeremiah Smith is one of the most prolific scoring threats in college football this season, with 11 to his name, with at least one in five out of six games and two or more in four. Indiana will be his toughest test, so I'm avoiding him to score at least two touchdowns. But I don't see Indiana keeping him out of the end zone like they did last season.
Smith will get into the end zone at least once. If the -195 price doesn't appeal to you, consider his anytime first-half touchdown prop. Smith has scored nine of his 11 touchdowns in the first half.
Picks: Jeremiah Smith Anytime Touchdown Scorer (-195)/First-Half Anytime Touchdown Scorer (+125)
Florida Gators vs. No. 7 Texas Longhorns
Cam Coleman has scored in three out of five games so far this season and has five touchdowns to his name, including one last week against Oklahoma. Florida's secondary was decimated over the last two weeks, surrendering over 600 yards through the air and six touchdowns. After losing last week and falling from the No. 1 spot in the country, I expect the Longhorns to do the same as Missouri and South Carolina.
Manning will target Coleman early and often and find him in the end zone at least once.
Pick: Cam Coleman Anytime Touchdown Scorer (+125)
Cincinnati Bearcats at West Virginia Mountaineers
West Virginia is the best 3-3 team in the country largely because of sophomore quarterback Michael Hawkins Jr. He's a decent passer, but he does more damage with his legs (12 touchdowns) than his arm (7). Cincinnati has a lackluster defense that will not be able to stop him and probably will not slow him down much, if at all. However, since his anytime touchdown odds are -700, that is not a market I can advise you to take.
However, eight of his 12 rushing touchdowns have come in the first half, and five of the eight the Bearcats have allowed were in the first half. But at -200, that's not a great market either. But Hawkins has scored three touchdowns in the first quarter. With West Virginia playing a lackluster Bearcats defense and trying to end a three-game losing streak, he'll have extra motivation to get in the end zone early.
Picks: Michael Hawkins Jr. First-Quarter Anytime Touchdown Scorer (+140)/First-Half Anytime Touchdown Scorer (-200)
