College Football Anytime Touchdown Scorers: Famous Idaho Potato Bowl

(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

Maxwell Woods (+320)

Cougars starting running back Kirby Vorhees has already committed to joining the transfer portal and will sit out the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl. No player should benefit from this decision more than Maxwell Woods. He only had 27 carries and 15 receptions during the season as a freshman, but started coming on late in the season. Of his 42 touches, 26 came in November, including 16 carries in the final two games of the regular season.

Woods looks like he could be featured more in this game, which will pit him against a porous Utah State run defense. The Aggies allowed 175.1 yards per game on the ground and 18 scores via the run game. Washington State should be able to move the ball all day, and Woods will be a big part of that. His ability to make plays in the run game and pass game makes him a big threat to score his first career touchdown in this game.

Zevi Eckhaus (-120)

For the longest time, Washington State was known as an Air Raid offense. In recent years, the Cougars have relied a bit more on the running game. This reliance on the run game has included designed quarterback runs, bringing in quarterback Zevi Eckhaus from Bryant to lead this offense.

The Washington State quarterback was a strong dual-threat presence for the Cougars’ offense. In addition to throwing for 12 touchdowns, he also added eight touchdowns on the ground. We've already established that Utah State’s defense is a bit of a sieve against the run. If Washington State can break off big plays, and they should against a Utah State defense that was in the bottom half of the nation in 10+ and 20+ yard runs allowed, expect Eckhaus to be involved.

Javen Jacobs (+135)

While being a team that gave up a bunch of big rushing plays, Utah State also produced quite a few of its own. No one was a bigger home-run threat than Javen Jacobs. He found the end zone seven times this season, including five times on the ground on just 62 touches.

Jacobs really showed out in the last two games of the season. On just 13 carries, Jacobs ran for 160 yards with three touchdowns of 19, 32 and 56 yards. With his big-play ability, expect the Aggies to go to Jacobs often, which makes him a strong anytime touchdown scorer bet on Monday afternoon to round out our betting card.
