Top College Football Bowl Games Odds & Picks: Monday
Coastal Carolina vs. UTSA
UTSA heads to the Myrtle Beach Bowl for what is essentially a road game, as this game is played on the home field of Coastal Carolina. While the Chanticleers will be on the turquoise turf, it won’t have starting QB Ethan Vasko, who has hit the transfer portal. To make matters worse, backup QB Noah Kim is also in the portal, so CCU will be down to QB Tak Hudson. He did not throw a pass this season. For UTSA, QB Owen McCown, son of former NFL player Josh McCown, remains under center for the Roadrunners. The good news is that CCU will be without defensive studs Clev Lubin, Matthew McDoom and Will Whitson, as they’re also in the portal. Tim Beck has had a ton of losses on both sides of the ball for Coastal Carolina, while UTSA will be mostly intact at all of the key positions. Back UTSA to get it done on the road.
Pick: UTSA -8.5 (-115)

Northern Illinois vs. Fresno State
Northern Illinois quarterback Ethan Hampton has opted out of this game after transferring to Illinois. That’s a huge loss for the Huskies, and ultimately one they may not be able to overcome. That said, plenty of Bulldogs have also opted out of this game, including quarterback Mikey Keene. The Bulldogs dropped three of their last four games, so without their quarterback it’s hard to imagine them having much success on Monday. The total for this game is really low, but with so many offensive weapons out for both teams, there’s no reason to expect this game to climb into the 40s. This could have been a good game, but with the current state of college football, this is a battle between backups, and picking a side with so much unknown is nearly impossible. Therefore, the Under is the safest play.
Pick: Under 39.5 (-110)
