College Football Conference Championship Winner Odds & Picks (2024)
After an offseason that saw many teams change conferences, many conferences will be more competitive than ever. While this may make betting on conference championship odds a little more challenging, it also means bettors stand to win more since the odds will be longer.
That is, the odds will be longer to start the season. Once play begins, and the contenders start to separate from the other teams, odds will get shorter and your potential payout smaller. If you want to bet on a favorite, dark horse or longshot, there is no better time than the present.
The following are some of our favorite picks to win the Power Four (ACC, SEC, Big Ten, Big 12) conference championships.

ACC Conference Championship Odds 2024
Favorite: Clemson (+350)
One could make a solid case for Florida State to run it back, but we are a little bullish on what to expect from new FSU quarterback DJ Uiagalelei. We think it is more likely that Dabo Swinney will get Clemson back into the national spotlight with some help from veteran quarterback Cade Klubnik.
Klubnik will need some help from his offensive line, and the running backs and wide receivers will need to step up and make some plays. But the defense will be as tough as ever and help the Tigers win games while the offense gets things on offense get sorted out.
Dark Horse: Miami (+400)
Tyler Van Dyke was good - but that’s it. He wasn’t great. However, Cam Ward can potentially be one of the best in the game this season. His terrific offensive line will give him time, and a solid run game will keep defenses honest, leaving Ward to use his arm talent and athleticism to make plays.
He could make enough of them to push Miami to the head of the class in the ACC.
Longshot: SMU (+1100)
With a ton of talent returning on both sides of the ball, SMU will be ready to compete this year when they move to the ACC. Or they’ll get a rude awakening when they face Power Conference programs every week rather than Group of Five teams.
Big 12 Conference Championship Odds 2024
Favorite(s): Utah (+320), Oklahoma State (+750)
Utah’s defense is solid, which can’t be said for most Big 12 schools. If they can rebuild the offensive line and keep Cam Rising healthy and in the lineup, the offense could blow the doors off the rest of the conference.
The Oklahoma State defense could stand to be better. But luckily, it will not be on the field much, thanks to Ollie Gordon II, the best running back in the country. Alan Bowman is a solid veteran quarterback who generates enough in the passing game to keep defenses from stacking the box against Gordon.
Dark Horse(s): Kansas (+900), Arizona (+1100)
Jalon Daniels can be the best quarterback in the country if he can stay healthy for the entire season. If he can, this Kansas team could win the Big 12 now that Texas and Oklahoma have moved on.
We are excited to see what Noah Fifita can do under center for the Wildcats in the pass-happy Big 12. But the Wildcats lost a ton of talent to the transfer portal last year. Do they have the talent on the roster to replace the losses? We’ll find out soon enough.
Longshot: Colorado (+2800)
The offense exploded last season in September before getting slapped in the face for the rest of the season. If it can become more consistent, and if the defense can - well, stop someone (anyone), the sky is the limit for Coach Prime and the Buffaloes.
Big Ten Conference Championship Odds
Favorite: Oregon (+200)
Why not Michigan? It’s not the personnel losses but the loss of head coach Jim Harbaugh. Ohio State? Chip Kelly as the new OC could be interesting, but the offensive line is a question mark, Will Howard is no Justin Field and Marvin Harrison Jr. is in the NFL. But Oregon has a stud QB in Dillon Gabriel. His offensive line is solid and he has some great skill position players to work with.
As for the defense, it will be up to the challenge in the Big Ten.
Dark Horse: USC (+2000)
There are a lot of question marks surrounding the Trojans in their first season in the Big Ten. Will the defense that was not good last year step up to the challenge in the Big Ten? Does Miller Moss have what it takes to be the next outstanding USC QB? Are his skill position players up to the task?
But there is one thing that makes taking a flier on USC not a bad idea - Lincoln Riley. If he can work his offensive magic with the tools on hand, the Trojans could run up the score and not have to worry too much about the defense.
Longshot(s): Washington (+8000), Indiana (+20000)
Washington gets included here because we like new quarterback Will Rodgers. He’ll give the Huskies the mid-range passing attack it will strive for under new OC Brennan Carroll. Of course, they’ll have to rebuild a decimated skill position group, but if those guys can step up...
Bowl eligibility is a more realistic goal for the Hoosiers, but Indiana certainly qualifies as a longshot. The roster will not have too many names fans outside of Indiana will recognize. So, what makes them a longshot? New head coach Curt Cignetti. He has done an outstanding job wherever he’s been, and mostly with players the majority of college football fans would not recognize.
SEC Conference Championship Odds
Favorite: Georgia (+190)
To be the best, you have to beat the best. Until someone beats the Bulldogs, Georgia is far and away the best team in the SEC. Carson Beck is a stud at quarterback, his offensive line is fantastic, the skill position guys are talented and the defense is a force of nature.
Injuries could be problematic due to a lack of depth, but that will not be an issue if they stay healthy.
Dark Horse: Alabama (+500)
If it were business as usual for the Crimson Tide, they’d be considered favorites along with Georgia. The talent is still there, of course. But will they be the same dominant team without Nick Saban to put the pieces together?
Kalen DeBoer can tell us the answer is ‘yes,’ but we’ll believe it when we see it.
Longshot: Oklahoma (+3000)
The defense has improved tremendously with Brent Venables as the head coach and may be ready to compete this year. But will the offense be ready for SEC defenses? If Jackson Arnold can live up to the hype - maybe. He’ll have to hope the rebuilt offensive line can stand up to SEC pass rushes.
If it can, and if the defense can step up the challenge, the Sooners could surprise people this season.
