College Football First & Anytime TD Scorer Picks: Week 12 (2024)

At this stage of the season, teams will be looking to their superstars to step up. Teams will need them to make plays, score touchdowns and win games now that one loss can be the difference between making the College Football Playoff (CFP) or not. That makes betting on first and anytime touchdown props a little more fun this week.

The following are our favorite first and anytime touchdown props for Saturday's college football games.

Week 12 Best College Football First & Anytime Touchdown Scorer Picks

(Odds via FanDuel Sportsbook unless otherwise stated)

*Anytime touchdown scorer odds first and first touchdown scorer odds in parenthesis.

Texas vs. Arkansas

  • Matthew Golden (WR – Texas) | +110 (+900)
  • Isaiah Bond (WR – Texas) | +110 (+850)
  • Gunnar Helm (TE – Texas) | +120 (+1000)
  • *DeAndre Moore Jr. (WR – Texas) | +160 (+1200) (*DraftKings Sportsbook)

After watching Jaxson Dart slice up the Razorbacks’ secondary last week for 515 yards and six touchdowns, the Longhorns passing game will want to do the same.

Gunnar Helm leads the team in receptions but only has three touchdowns, two of which came in the last four games. Matthew Golden leads the team in receiving touchdowns with six (three in the last two games). Isaiah Bond and DeAndre Moore each have five this season. Bond has scored once in each of his last two games.

Moore did not score last week but had two previously vs. Vanderbilt.

Jaydon Blue will be a tempting pick as Texas’ lead back, who also gets some work in the passing game. But the big running back has just one rushing touchdown in his last four games and one receiving. At -170, his anytime touchdown prop has no value.

LSU vs. Florida

  • Garrett Nussmeier (QB – LSU) | +300 (+1800)
  • Josh Williams (RB – LSU) | +110 | (+850)
  • Ja’Kobi Jackson (RB – Florida) | +130 (+1000)
  • Aaron Anderson (WR – LSU) | +135 (+950)

With three losses, LSU is technically out of the CFP picture. They need a ton of help to get in at this point. There is the possibility of a 'letdown' game here because the team does not have an obtainable goal other than qualifying for a bowl game (that half of them will likely skip anyway).

The LSU run defense is not great (No. 70 in the country); the Tigers have given up 20 touchdowns on the ground. Florida's lead back, Jadan Baugh, has minus-money odds for his anytime touchdown prop (-180), but Ja’Kobi Jackson has plus-money odds and has a touchdown in three of his last five games.

Florida's defense has been weak against the run this season (No. 94, 168.3 yards per game allowed). Of the 30 touchdowns they've given up, 16 have been rushing and 14 passing). With Garrett Nussmeier's interception issues the last couple of weeks, I could see LSU leaning on the run a little more.

Caden Durham is LSU's lead running back, but Nussmeier and Josh Williams each have three on the season, so I like their chances of getting one against a weak Florida run defense. As for the passing game, Kyren Lacy (-135) will likely be Nussmeier's primary target in the red zone. Since Florida knows that to be true, Aaron Anderson is an intriguing option.

Boston College vs. SMU

  • Brashard Smith (RB – SMU) | -400 (+240)
  • Brashard Smith (RB – SMU) | To Score 2+ Touchdowns (+105)
  • Roderick Daniels Jr. (WR – SMU) | +165 (+900)

SMU has been running the ball down the throats of the opposition this year (196.9 yards per game). Brashard Smith has been leading the charge. With 11 touchdowns on the year (at least one in six out of nine games), we know there is a good chance he scores, hence his short anytime odds (-400).

But with 100+ yards and two touchdowns in his last two games, we like him to get in the end zone at least twice against Boston College, even though they have only given up 11 touchdowns this year.

As for Roderick Daniels Jr., the senior wide receiver only has 15 catches and one receiving touchdown this season. However, he has a score in four of his last five games (three rushing, one receiving). Once Boston College’s defense commits to too many guys in the box to stop Smith, Daniels will go streaking around the end for his fourth rushing touchdown.
