Navy +122

The Navy Midshipmen finished the season 5-6 despite losing three of their last five games.

On the other hand, Army began the season 2-6 but added wins against Air Force, Holy Cross, and Coastal Carolina to salvage the season. A win against Navy would push the Black Knights to 6-6 on the year.

The Navy has had a lot of injuries at quarterback this season. They’ve played seniors Tai Lavatai and Xavier Arline but have also had to use Braxton Woodson and Blake Horvath.

Despite using four different quarterbacks, Navy has the potential to finish the season at .500 with six wins. Lavatai and Arline are questionable for this game. However, it seems likely that both will play in this game. Therefore, instead of using a freshman in Woodson, the Navy will have experienced quarterbacks who have played in this game previously.

Army and Navy both ran the ball for over 200 yards. However, the Army allowed 180 yards rushing per game, while the Navy only gave up 121.91 yards.

The Midshipmen have a very good running game but should also benefit more at quarterback.

Army’s Bryson Daily threw just one pass against Coastal Carolina in the Black Knight’s win. Instead, he rushed 22 times for 94 yards and added a touchdown. He leads the team in passing and rushing. No other player on the Army has earned more than 86 rushing attempts. Daily has 188. It’s a one-man show with Army.

The Navy is way more balanced offensively.

Over 28 (-102)

The Under has hit in nine of the last ten meetings between Army and Navy. I’m aware. However, the Army and Navy combined for 37 points in overtime last year.

In the year before that, the Midshipmen added 17 points in a 17-13 win. The total finished at 30 in that game.

Army added a 15-0 win in 2020. However, in 2019, the Navy added a 31-7 win.

The Over would’ve hit in three of the last four games with the total at 28.5. That total has never been as low as 28.5 in the previous ten years. The lowest was 32 points last year.

Alex Tecza Anytime Touchdown

Navy’s Alex Tecza has earned 117 carries as the Navy’s full back. He’s rushed for 6.2 yards a carry and has five touchdowns with 724 yards.

He didn’t get much run last week against SMU, but that was ultimately because the Navy fell behind really quickly. In the Navy’s win against East Carolina in the previous week, Tecza added 24 rushes for 94 yards to go along with a touchdown. That’s the stat line we should get out of Tecza on Saturday.
