College Football Player Props: Salute to Veterans Bowl
(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)
Cam Cook Over 107.5 Rushing Yards (-114)
Cam Cook is the nation's leading rusher this season with 1,695 yards on 295 carries. He went over this line in nine out of 13 games and for 100+ in 10 games. One of the few he went under was in the Conference USA Football Championship Game versus Kennesaw State (78 yards on 19 carries). Troy is ranked 110th in the nation in run defense, allowing 182.4 yards per game.
But I'm going to stick with this number over the alternative options with plus-money odds, since Cook will be splitting carries with quarterback Caden Creel. Troy will not have an answer for the Jacksonville State run game.
Cam Cook TD Props: Anytime First-Half TD (-120) | Anytime Second-Half TD (+185) | 2+ TDs (+145)
Cam Cook recorded 16 touchdowns in 11 games, with seven coming in the first half and nine in the second half, with one scored in each half in four games. Of the 36 touchdowns the Troy defense allowed this season, 21 were rushing touchdowns.
Caden Creel Over 98.5 Rushing Yards (-114)
It's a risk expecting two players to go over such big totals, but Jacksonville State was the No. 4 rushing team this season with 258 yards per game. Caden Creel went for over 100 yards in his last five games and in seven of his last nine.
Caden Creel Under 121.5 Passing Yards (-114)
Caden Creel only had 96 yards passing against Kennesaw State in the title game, but he went for over 100 in his previous eight games and over 121.5 in six of those games. Troy has a pretty decent pass defense (No. 37, 198 yards per game allowed). Troy will keep the Jacksonville State pass attack in check, but the Gamecocks will be too busy running the ball to notice.
Caden Creel Under 0.5 Passing Touchdowns (+102)
Caden Creel only threw eight touchdowns this season and zero in seven out of 13 games. Considering how well they'll likely run on the Trojans, the Gamecocks may not even attempt a pass in the red zone.
