                            1. Ohio State

Following a sluggish 13-3 first half against Ohio University, Ohio State quarterback Julian Sayin picked apart the Bobcats’ defense in the second half. Sayin finished with 347 passing yards and three touchdowns, with star wideout Jeremiah Smith tallying nine receptions for 153 yards and a touchdown.

The Buckeyes’ defense has yet to give up 10 points in any of its three games played, including their dominant Week 1 performance against Texas. Ohio State goes on bye in Week 4 before a road trip to face the Washington Huskies in Week 5.

                            2. Miami (FL)

I had my doubts about Miami but their rout of a surging USF team was impressive. The Hurricanes, led by quarterback Carson Beck, scored 49 points, beating the Bulls by 37 points.

Beck finished 23-of-28 for 340 yards and four total touchdowns. The biggest improvement has been on the defensive side, with Miami limiting opponents to 2.6 YPC. A prime-time home game against 1-2 Florida awaits in Week 4.

                            3. Georgia

Georgia won the Game of the Week by beating Tennessee 44-41 in overtime. The Bulldogs went on the road and emerged victorious in a high-scoring, back-and-forth shootout, with QB Gunner Stockton accounting for three total touchdowns and a 74 percent completion rate.

Tennessee’s offense is talented, so there shouldn’t be massive concerns for a Georgia defense that had previously locked down its opponents. The Bulldogs head to a bye week before another massive SEC clash at home against No. 14 Alabama.

                            4. LSU

Head coach Brian Kelly has led LSU to a 3-0 record in 2025. Despite the undefeated mark, reporters have been quick to point out the lack of offensive production, which is more than fair, despite Kelly’s gripes to the media.

QB Garrett Nussmeier didn’t play a great game but the Tigers’ defense stepped up, forcing five interceptions against Florida QB DJ Lagway during a 20-10 home win.

Now, the Tigers get a soft matchup against Southeastern Louisiana in Week 4. Then, it’s a road game at No. 13 Ole Miss in Week 5.

                            5. Oklahoma

John Mateer, paired with head coach Brent Venables’ defensive scheme, has launched the Oklahoma Sooners into College Football Playoff contention. The former Washington State quarterback has exceeded expectations, lighting up opponents with a big arm and his legs.

Following a 42-3 rout of Temple, Oklahoma will host No. 22 Auburn in Week 4. Former Oklahoma quarterback, Jackson Arnold, leads the Tigers against his former team, so expect Venables to dial up plays to contain the mobile signal-caller, likely leading the Sooners to a 4-0 record.

                            6. Oregon

Following a 69-3 rout of Oklahoma State in Week 2, the Oregon Ducks managed a 20-point win over Northwestern during their first road game in 2025. The Ducks slept walk through the first half before pulling away in the third quarter, finishing with 5.9 YPC and three rushing touchdowns.

An in-state rivalry game at home against 0-3 Oregon State awaits in Week 4. Then, it’s a massive road game at No. 2 Penn State in Week 5.

                            7. Florida State

QB Tommy Castellanos and the Florida State Seminoles were on bye during Week 3. This has been one of the most surprising teams to start the college football season, knocking off Alabama in their season opener.

After scoring 77 points against a non-major opponent in Week 2, Week 4 should be another lopsided win for the Seminoles, facing Kent State, one of the worst programs in the FBS.

                            8. Penn State

Penn State has started 3-0 playing one of the weakest schedules in the nation. The Nittany Lions blew out Villanova, a FCS school, 52-6 at home in Week 3. Other wins have been against Nevada and Florida International, both non-Power 4 opponents.

QB Drew Allar and his running back tandem of Nicholas Singleton and Kaytron Allen will be on bye in Week 4, fully preparing for a marquee matchup at home in Week 5 against No. 6 Oregon.

                            9. Illinois

There was a lot of hype surrounding Illinois this offseason and the Fighting Illini have lived up to the lofty expectations. QB Luke Altmyer has led the offense to 45 points per game, ranked 15th in the FBS.

The signature win came on the road against Duke, beating the Blue Devils 45-19 in Week 2. The Fighting Illini just shutout Western Michigan 38-0 in Week 3.

Now, Altmyer and head coach Bret Bielema will gear up for a huge top-20 matchup against the Indiana Hoosiers on the road in Bloomington during prime-time in Week 4.

                            10. Texas

Arch Manning has not been overly impressive during his first full season as the Texas Longhorns’ starting quarterback. The Longhorns have bounced back after their 14-7 loss to Ohio State in Week 1, beating non-Power 4 opponents that include San Jose State and UTEP.

Manning logged 11-for-25 for 114 yards, one touchdown and an interception against UTEP in Week 3. He played better as a ball carrier, finishing with 9-51-2 on the ground.

Texas’ defense remains the strength of the team, ranked 18th in opponent points allowed per game, bottling up Ohio State’s offense during the season opener. The Longhorns face a second straight Conference USA opponent, Sam Houston, in Week 4.
