JLab Birmingham Bowl Same-Game Parlay: Georgia Southern vs. App State

Leg 1: Georgia Southern Eagles -7.5 (-108)

App State was absolutely gashed by the transfer portal, and they'll be coming into this game likely missing their top two quarterbacks, a key receiver and four defensive players who logged at least 300 snaps. Head coach Dowell Loggains said that transfer portal players will be allowed to play in the game if they want to.

Regardless, the best way to bet the side in this game appears to be laying the 7.5 points with Georgia Southern. They won the initial meeting outright on the road, and that game was only as close as the final score suggests, thanks to a late garbage-time touchdown. I'm willing to ride with the Eagles, and if the aforementioned laundry list of impact players don’t play, it'll just be a bonus.

Leg 2: Under 58.5 Points (-108)

The App State offense was stifled in the November meeting, scoring only three points in the first half. Now that they may be without quarterbacks AJ Swann (1,495 yards, 10 touchdowns) and JJ Kohl (1,465 yards, 12 touchdowns), it's going to be a big request for the depth signal-callers and this underwhelming run game to carry the burden. The Mountaineers finished the regular season ranked 110th in rushing yards per game (122.7) and 98th in yards per rush attempt (3.9).

Overall, neither offense was very potent this season. Georgia Southern ranked 64th in scoring (27.8 points per game), while App State was 85th (25.3 points per game). Factor in that the first meeting finished with only 48 combined points, and I feel like we're getting plenty of cushion for a second under to cash in the bowl game rematch. The under went 4-1 in Georgia Southern's last five games, and it's 8-3 in their last 11 games against a conference foe. App State is 6-2 to the under in its last eight games as an underdog.

Leg 3: Camden Brown Anytime Touchdown Scorer (-340)

The betting market is all over Camden Brown to score on Monday, as this anytime touchdown scorer prop is listed at -340. There's no such thing as a free leg, but considering the star Eagle receiver hauled in 14 touchdown passes this season, I'd say it's very likely he will receive meaningful red-zone targets in this game.

Brown caught 63 passes for 1,049 yards, which equates to 16.7 yards per catch. Along with his 14 touchdowns, each metric leads the team. He'll be facing an App State defense that ranked 94th in yards per pass play allowed (11.9), and 133rd in both passing yards allowed per game (275.6) and completions allowed per game (23.2). Brown should shred this defense, putting the stamp on a fantastic 2025 campaign.
