College Football Week 0 Early Picks Highlights:
- Florida State vs. Georgia Tech (Dublin): The hosts dive into the Florida State vs. Georgia Tech matchup in Dublin, highlighting why the over might be the best play here. Florida State is dealing with significant turnover on defense, losing several key players to the NFL. Meanwhile, Georgia Tech returns much of its offensive core, including QB Haynes King and 1,000-yard rusher Jamal Haynes. The combination of FSU’s new-look defense and Georgia Tech’s experience on offense could lead to a higher-scoring game, making the over an appealing option.
- SMU @ Nevada: The SMU Mustangs are poised to dominate their matchup against Nevada, where they are favored by nearly four touchdowns. SMU's top-10 offense returns a wealth of talent, including QB Preston Stone and all-conference running back Jaylan Knighton. Nevada, on the other hand, is coming off a dismal 2-10 season and is in the early stages of a rebuild under new head coach Jeff Choate. With SMU likely to put up points early and often, the Mustangs could cover the spread even as it continues to climb.
- Delaware State @Hawaii: The podcast also touches on Hawaii's massive 38-point spread against Delaware State. Despite Hawaii being a lower-tier FBS team, they bring back significant production from last season and have the advantage of playing at home. Delaware State, a struggling FCS team, faces the daunting task of traveling to Honolulu. Given the talent disparity and the long trip for Delaware State, Hawaii should have no trouble covering the spread, making them a strong pick to close out the Week 0 slate.

What is Betting Against the Spread?
Betting "against the spread" refers to the act of choosing the winning team based on a numeric handicap placed on the team that oddsmakers believe is superior, rather than picking the outright winner. For example, if the Rams face the Bengals, and oddsmakers set the spread at Rams -3.5, you would need Los Angeles to win by 4 or more points in order to cash your Rams bet.
What is an Over/Under Bet?
Over/Under is a wager based on how many points you think will be scored in a specific game. Oddsmakers set the total, and bettors decide whether the final score will be higher or lower than that number. If an Over/Under is set at 44.5 points and you bet Over, you will need the combined score of both teams to be 45 points or higher to win your bet.
What is a Moneyline Bet?
A moneyline bet involves choosing which team you believe will win a specific matchup. The moneyline favorite carries a minus designation, like -130. This means that you need to wager $130 to earn a $100 profit. Conversely, the underdog carries a plus designation, like +110. This means that you win $110 in profit on a $100 bet.
