Top College Football Odds & Picks: Week 11 (Thursday)
Appalachian State vs. Coastal Carolina
App State will travel to Coastal Carolina on Thursday night. Both of these teams have gotten off to slow starts in the Sun Belt. The Mountaineers sit at 2-3 but are coming into this contest on a two-game win streak. For Coastal, they won their Sun Belt opener but have dropped three straight coming into this game. These teams rank as two of the worst defenses in the conference both giving up over 428 yards of offense and 32 points per game. What App State lacks on defense, they make up for on offense. Averaging 436.5 yards per game including 283.8 in the air, the offense has been good but they’ve scored 27.2 points per game in the conference. Coastal Carolina has had success scoring on the season with 30.9 points per game, but as Sun Belt play has heated up that number has dropped to 25. Although these are both poor defenses, this total has gotten much too high for two offenses that have slowed down in recent weeks. With rain in the forecast, I’ll be backing the under.
Pick: Under 62.5

Florida Atlantic vs. East Carolina
The FAU Owls hit the road for Greenville to take on the ECU Pirates at the Rowdy Dowdy. It used to be a difficult place to play, but the past couple of seasons have been lean. However, the Pirates are starting to piece things together again. ECU pounded Temple 56-34 last time out to cover a 9.5-point spread at home on Oct. 26, and it has had two weeks off to prepare for QB Cam Fancher and the Owls. East Carolina has picked up three covered in the past four games, and the Over has hit in three in a row. The defense has allowed 34 or more points in three in a row, and four of the past five games. For the Owls, they’ve allowed 38 or more points in three in a row, and four of the previous five outings. The Over has cashed in three in a row, and five of the previous six outings. We should see plenty of points in this AAC battle, as neither defense has been particularly impressive lately.
Pick: Over 57.5
