NFL Week 16 Odds, Picks & Predictions: Commanders vs. 49ers

The Commanders find themselves in a tough spot here. On a short week they travel across the country to take on the hottest defense in the league. San Francisco is coming off a Thursday night game up in Seattle and have a decided rest advantage, but they don’t even really need it.

A run of 6-1-1 before their bye week had Washington flying high but it may have been fools gold as they only played two opponents in the top half of the league in DVOA. The end of the game on Sunday night showed their run defense fall apart while Heinicke played with fire barely avoiding turnover after turnover.

These are two teams that are still being improperly valued by the markets. The Commanders aren’t as good as their record and the 49ers are better than they’re being given credit for with an elite defense and an offense that is catered to backup Brock Purdy’s skill set. With the bad situational spot added on, I love the 49ers here.
