Detroit Lions vs. Seattle Seahawks Odds & Game Pick (2021)

It will be one of the more interesting offseasons that this Seahawks franchise has ever had, as the future of Russell Wilson in Seattle is as uncertain as it’s ever been. For the Lions, it’s been a season to forget but not from a lack of effort. Let’s take a closer look at this matchup and see where the value remains.

  • Last meeting: October 28, 2018, Seahawks 28, Lions 14

Overview

While they do nothing much above average across the league, this Lions team has quietly lost the rushing battle in just one game since the start of November. Led by D’Andre Swift and a host of rushers behind him, the Lions come into this one averaging 112.8 yards per game including 130 on their last time on the field at Atlanta.

For the home Seahawks, while the loss of Wilson dor an extended stretch in the middle of the season certainly didn’t help, this defense has been far from characteristic of what we’ve come to expect in Seattle. Through 15 games, the Seahawks are allowing 385.5 total yards and 270.9 passing yards per game, both good for 31st in the NFL.

Trends

  • Lions are 4-0 ATS in L4 vs. NFC
  • Lions are 4-0 ATS in L4 Week 17 games
  • Over is 5-1 in Seahawks L6 games in January

Bottom Line

Despite winning just two games thus far on the season (and tying one), head coach Dan Campbell has this team putting in the work each and every week. Over their last 10 games, they’ve covered seven including five of their last six.

I like for the Lions to give another strong effort in this one, and to stay within the posted seven points in what could be Wilson’s last game as a Seahawk.
