Early 2023-24 NBA Championship Odds, Picks & Predictions

The Denver Nuggets won the NBA Finals earlier this week. It was Denver’s first Championship and one that the Nuggets faithful will never forget.

But now it’s time to shift focus to next season. Sportsbooks released their odds for the NBA Championship in 2023-24.

Which bets have value, and which bets should we stay away from? I’ve got the answers below.

Phoenix Suns: +700

The Phoenix Suns will get a full year of Kevin Durant and Devin Booker. The team also might look a little bit different. Phoenix brought in Frank Vogel to be the head coach, and he’s got an NBA title, three division titles, and has earned the No. 1 seed twice for the NBA Playoffs.

The Suns are going to be more active this year with their roster. Chris Paul is likely gone. The same could be said for DeAndre Ayton. The Suns will build a legitimate contender and find pieces that complement their two stars.

Dallas Mavericks: +3000

What if Kyrie Irving stays in Dallas? The Mavericks would have two top-ten players on their squad heading into this season.

Things didn’t exactly work out for the Mavericks last season. But it sounds like if Damian Lillard is going to be moved, he will go to the Heat. That’s the one destination Kyrie would go to if he doesn’t sign with the Mavericks, but he’s not even a top priority for the Heat.

If Irving sticks it out in Dallas and figures it out with Luka Doncic, then the Mavericks can use their lottery selection this year and build something around their two stars. There’s too much value here for a team with that much talent.

Houston Rockets: +50000

The Rockets are going to make some moves this summer. Maybe it’s adding James Harden. Perhaps they’ll bring other players too. But now they’ve got a legitimate head coach who has already been to the NBA Finals.

Alperen Sengun is probably the closest center to Nikola Jokic (although it’s still not close), and Kevin Porter Jr., Jalen Green, and Jabari Smith all have incredibly high ceilings. Plus, don’t forget that the Rockets also have the fourth pick in the NBA Draft. That could be a Thompson twin, for all we know.
