Romania (+340) vs. Ukraine (-110), DRAW (+250) | 2.5 (+125/-150)
Group E play gets underway on Monday as Romania takes on Ukraine in each team's respective opener. Romania's the underdog of the group, sitting at -135 to advance to the knockout round. Ukraine comes in at -280 to advance, trailing only Belgium (-2000) from an odds standpoint. Kickoff is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. ET from Fußball Arena München in München, Germany.
I'm going to play the under 2.5 goals for this one. Mainly, I have been impressed with Romania's defense leading up to the tournament, where they have conceded one or fewer goals in nine of their last 10 matches. This includes posting six clean sheets over the 10-game sample size.
They've also struggled on the offensive side of the ball, averaging only 0.80 goals per match over their last five matches. Romania has played to two consecutive 0-0 draws leading up to the tournament opener, getting shut out by Bulgaria and Liechtenstein. Meanwhile, Ukraine's coming off a 4-0 win over Moldova in a friendly, and they registered three clean sheets in their final four qualifying matches last fall as well. I don't anticipate much offense in this spot, so I'll lay the juice with the under.
Bet: Under 2.5 (-150)
Belgium (-205) vs. Slovakia (+600), DRAW (+350) | 2.5 (-120/-105)
The soccer continues with the second Group E match of the day, where Belgium takes on Slovakia. The Red Devils are a -210 favorite to win the group, while Slovakia is currently priced at +950. Kickoff is set for 12:00 p.m. ET from Frankfurt Arena in Frankfurt, Germany.
I'll ride with Belgium to score 2+ goals in Monday's midday clash from Frankfurt. It comes with some vig, but I think it's one of the safer ways to play this game if you're looking for an afternoon sweat. The Belgians have cleared this line in the three friendlies leading up to this game, scoring 2.33 goals per match. That includes a 2-2 draw with England, so if they can manage a couple of tallies against England, they should have no issue scoring on Slovakia.
Then we have the personnel of Belgium, which is led by one of the top midfielders in the world in Kevin De Bruyne. The captain has logged 101 international caps, adding 27 goals over the span. Up front, the Belgians still have Roma's Romelu Lukaku (85 international goals), as well as De Bruyne's Manchester City teammate, Jérémy Doku (2 international goals). They're loaded with talent on the attack, and I think they'll rack up the goals against Slovakia, who's projected to finish in last place in the group.
Bet: Belgium Team Total Over 1.5 (-165)
Austria (+475) vs. France (-170), DRAW (+320) | 2.5 (-125/+100)
The day concludes with a Group D contest between Austria and France. The winner of this contest will look to join the Netherlands at the top of the table after they notched a 2-1 win over Poland on Sunday. Kickoff is set for 3:00 p.m. ET from Düsseldorf Arena in Düsseldorf, Germany.
France has been a force on the international stage for a while now, and their efforts climaxed with the 2018 World Cup win in Russia. They finished second in the 2022 edition of the World Cup, and return many of the same players for this Euro 2024 tournament. Considering their overall talent, team chemistry, and experience, I'm going to lay the goal with the French to get off on the right foot.
The Blues looked good leading up to the tournament, going 2-1-0 in friendlies while getting scoring contributions from both Kylian Mbappé and Olivier Giroud in the winning efforts. Austria has conceded at least one goal in their last three matches, and you do not want to be shaky defensively against this vicious French attack. I like France to win this match, and I think there's a good chance they stretch this out to a multi-goal victory.
Bet: France -1.0 (+100)
