Sunday’s Best Euro 2024 Final Bets: Spain vs. England

Spain 3-way Moneyline (+145)

If both these teams play their best, Spain has the advantage. After allowing a goal to France in the ninth minute of their semifinal contest, they rattled off back-to-back goals in less than four minutes to take a 2-1 lead in the 25th minute. They never relinquished their lead. What was so impressive about that performance was that the French had yet to allow a goal from anywhere but the penalty spot in this tournament.

Meanwhile, the English have been the cardiac kids. In their last game, Ollie Watkins netted the game-winner in the 90th minute, just two games after Jude Bellingham scored in stoppage time to pull England even with Slovakia and send the game to extra time. While this may seem like a team of destiny to some, Spain is simply the better team. England needs to be better than they've been to have any chance. They could pull this out with another miracle finish, but against Spain, that seems unlikely.

First Half Draw (-115)

Spain was part of a three-goal first half in their last game, but we don't expect to see the same result on Sunday. Throughout most of this tournament, Spain has felt out their opponents in the first half, then opened things up in the second. Their last game was an exception because they conceded such an early goal to France.

Conversely, the English offense has been essentially nonexistent in the first half of contests. While this may lead to many wondering why we don't just take 0-0 as a halftime score, we’re not counting out both teams scoring in the first half. Both of these teams have shown a willingness to play more aggressively if they fall behind, and each has quickly pulled even in matches where they concede the first goal. We don’t expect goals in the first half, but if one comes, we expect a quick answer.

Both Teams to Score: Yes (+106)

Spain is going to score in this game. They have scored in every game at this tournament, and they've netted multiple goals in four of their six matches. The question is, can the English find a way to score against the Spanish defense?

Spain has shown time and time again that they are content to play with a one-goal lead. It is a big part of the reason why four of their six wins have come by just one score. They could have scored more against Albania after taking a 1-0 lead in the 13th minute. But they didn't need to, so they played with possession in mind for the rest of the game.

It's doubtful they will be so cautious against this English side, especially since England has scored in all but one of their games at this tournament. As the competition has ramped up, Spain’s defense has suffered a bit. England’s offense is good enough to score at least once.
