Matthew Freedman’s Favorite Final 4 March Madness Player Props (2022)

On my to-do list for the week, under Thursday morning I have “FF player props.”

Now, it’s Thursday morning (about 7 a.m. ET, 6 a.m. where I live in Dubuque, IA), and I’m looking at my to-do list trying to figure out what I meant by “FF player props” whenever I wrote that down on Sunday night.

Fantasy football player props? That doesn’t make sense for March 31. Final Fantasy player props? That sounds cool, but I don’t think there’s actually a legal market for that.

Final 4 player props? There we go! It’s all coming together.

March is almost over, but the Madness continues this Saturday night.

With three games left to go, I am 224-201 (+5.1 units) on March Madness player props. Honestly, it’s disappointing, but at least I haven’t lost money, and given that I know almost nothing about college basketball I suppose not going broke is a strong outcome.

Despite my ignorance of the sport, I’ve created crude player projections for the past two March Madnesses and used them to make bets in the prop market. I’ve had success.

  • In 2019, I went 125-69-12 (+39.8 units) on March Madness player props.
  • In 2021, I went 105-64-1 (+33.8 units) on March Madness player props.

Let’s see if I can do better for the Final 4.

Here are some bets I like for Saturday’s two games. For all bets with negative odds, I wager to win a unit. For all bets with positive odds, I wager a unit.
