MLB Futures: Best Odds & Bets for 2022 World Series Winner

The Atlanta Braves finished off the 2021 MLB playoffs with a World Series victory. At one point, the Braves were just 44-45 and had less than a one percent chance of winning the World Series.

At this time, the Braves lost Ronald Acuna Jr. for the remainder of the season and were left with a roster that just wasn’t playing well. By the trade deadline, the Braves surprised many by going after a bunch of interesting players to help keep the them competitive. The Braves’ additions were key and they eventually helped Atlanta rally to win the World Series.

Anything is possible. In-season deals can be made that could change the landscape of the league. But for now, we’ll look at the roster that we have and determine which team is best suited to win the World Series this season.

Los Angeles Dodgers (+500)

Of course, the Los Angeles Dodgers are the favorites to win the World Series at +500. The Dodgers have a legitimate all-star lineup that features Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, Trea Turner, Max Muncy, Will Smith, Justin Turner, Chris Taylor, and Cody Bellinger. That’s the best lineup you will see in the majors this season.

The starting rotation has some question marks with Andrew Heaney and Tony Gonsolin listed as the fourth and fifth starters, but ultimately, the Dodgers should be able to smack most pitchers and that would be enough to win.

Toronto Blue Jays (+1000)

The Blue Jays lineup isn’t as scary as the Dodgers, but for the American League, the Blue Jays easily look like the scariest.

At the top of the order, the Blue Jays will have a healthy George Springer along with Bo Bichette and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Toronto will also have Teoscar Hernandez, Loudres Gurriel Jr., and newly acquired third baseman, Matt Chapman.

Plus, the starting rotation is the best in the American League with newly acquired arms like Kevin Gausman and Yusei Kikuchi to pair up with Jose Berrios and Hyun-Jin Ryu. The Blue Jays are in a tough American League East, but have the best team on paper in the division.
