Friday’s Best MLB Home Run Props & Picks
(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)
Chase DeLauter (+430)
Chase DeLauter has posted a .276 ISO and a wOBA of .322 against right-handed pitching to start the season. The left-handed slugger has walked more than he’s struck out against righties and has a 27.5% fly-ball rate with a 45.1% hard-hit rate and an 11.8% barrel rate.
DeLauter will compete against veteran righty Max Scherzer, who has allowed a .179 ISO and a wOBA of .357 against lefties this season. Scherzer has only struck out 11.1% of lefties this season and has allowed an 11.4% barrel percentage with a fly-ball rate above 31%.
DeLauter began the season red hot. He’s slowed down a bit, but look for him to put together some really good at-bats against a declining Scherzer.
Everson Pereira (+520)
Everson Pereira will likely bat in the middle of the lineup for the Chicago White Sox on Friday. He has smacked right-handed pitching around this season, with a .310 ISO and .390 wOBA. He’s also recorded a 52.4% hard- hit rate with a 14.3% barrel rate.
Pereira will take on Miles Mikolas of the Washington Nationals, who has allowed a .333 ISO and a wOBA of .442 against righties this season. Mikolas was terrible against righties last season and is back to struggling against them this season. Mikolas has allowed a 35% fly-ball rate to righties with a 12.5% barrel rate.
Pereira is a sneaky option on the board tonight.
Freddie Freeman (+320)
You can take your pick in the Dodgers’ lineup, as Jameson Taillon is scheduled to take the mound against them. He’s allowed a .259 ISO and a wOBA of .353 to all batters this season. Taillon has given up a 12.5% barrel rate with a 34.4% fly-ball rate this year.
Shohei Ohtani and Max Muncy are sitting below +300 odds. The next player with odds above +300 is Freddie Freeman. He’s hammered out a .224 ISO and .384 wOBA with only a 10.8% strikeout rate against righties this year.
Freeman also leads the Dodgers in fly balls against righties this season, with a 66.1% hard-hit rate and 18.6% barrel rate. Let’s give Freeman a try at +320 odds.
