(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)
Michael Busch (+520)
Michael Busch has hit a .266 ISO and a wOBA of .427 against his last 85 righties. He’s also walked more than he’s struck out and has been super patient at the plate against righties. Beyond that, Busch has smashed 42% of fly balls, 66% of hard contact and has hit a barrel rate of 16% against righties over the last 30 days.
Today, he’ll take on Carmen Mlodzinski of the Pirates, who has given up a .236 ISO and a wOBA of .428 to his last 63 lefties. Those lefties have added a 13.3% barrel rate with 28.9% of fly balls.
This is a good spot for Busch to go deep.
Rafael Devers (+370)
Rafael Devers has launched a .315 ISO and a wOBA of .404 against his last 79 righties. The left-handed slugger has added 39.6% of fly balls with 62.3% of hard contact and a 13.2% barrel rate against righties.
Devers will battle Merrill Kelly of the Diamondbacks, who has given up a .224 ISO and a wOBA of .324 to his last 76 lefties. Those lefties have hit a 19.7% barrel rate, 59% of hard contact and 32.8% of fly balls against Kelly over the last 30 days.
Devers hit a grand slam last night. He’s also added two home runs in the last five days. Let’s see if he can add another one today.
Nick Kurtz (+310)
The Mariners are set to pitch Luis Castillo tonight. He’s a veteran righty who just hasn’t looked great against lefties all season long. In fact, over the last month, Castillo has allowed a .241 ISO and a wOBA of .409 against his last 64 lefties. Those 64 lefties have hit 42.9% of fly balls and a 14.3% barrel rate during that stretch, too.
Nick Kurtz, a lefty for the Athletics, will bat second tonight. He’s a left-handed batter, hitting a .222 ISO and a wOBA of .491 against righties over the last month. This is a terrific spot for the young first baseman to launch another home run this season.
