(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)
Willson Contreras (+330)
Over the last 30 days, Willson Contreras has a .200 ISO and a wOBA of .382 against his last 21 lefties faced. He’s also hit over 44% of fly balls and 55.6% of hard contact during that stretch against lefties.
Meanwhile, Contreras takes on Mitch Bratt of the Diamondbacks, who has allowed a .171 ISO and a wOBA of .323 to his last 85 righties. The left-handed starter has allowed 50% of hard contact and has earned just 20% of strikeouts, while giving up over 33% of fly balls.
This is a quality spot for Contreras in this lefty-versus-righty matchup.
Salvador Perez (+430)
The Athletics are set to pitch righty Mason Barnett tonight. He’s allowed a .483 ISO and a wOBA of .495 to his last 34 righties, despite being a right-handed pitcher. In addition, he’s allowed 45% of fly balls and a 20% barrel rate to his last 34 righties.
Barnett faces Salvador Perez in the cleanup spot tonight. Perez has slugged a .286 ISO and a wOBA of .365 against his last 71 righties. He’s limited strikeouts to below 17% and has hit over 36% of fly balls with an 11.5% barrel rate against righties.
Perez has a lot of potential tonight.
Kyle Tucker (+400)
I know Kyle Tucker has had a miserable season with the Dodgers. But he’s got a matchup that could help him break out tonight.
Tucker takes on Tomoyuki Sugano of the Colorado Rockies. The right-hander has watched his last 69 lefties hit a .348 ISO and a wOBA of .349 with 31% of fly balls, a 13.8% barrel rate and over 43% of hard contact. Sugano has also added just 13% of strikeouts against lefties over the last month.
Tucker has a .164 ISO against righties in the last 30 days and has struck out only 14.1% of the time. The results haven’t been there, but he’s still hit nearly 43% of fly balls against righties in the last month. Something could click tonight against Sugano.
