MLB Home Run Props & Picks: Wednesday (8/5)
After all 30 Major League Baseball teams made some sort of a move at the trade deadline, there are several new faces in new places from which to comprise our MLB home run props. On Monday alone, 10 All-Stars and four Silver Slugger Award winners ended up in new uniforms. Do any of them make our list of our top bets to go yard today?

Seiya Suzuki (+337)
Seiya Suzuki entered the week amid a 20-game on-base streak, during which he batted .321 with 12 extra-base hits and 19 RBI. Suzuki faces a southpaw for the second straight day, but Eric Lauer has not been nearly as intimidating throughout his career as last night’s starter, Tarik Skubal.
Suzuki is just 2-for-9 in his career against Lauer, but he has crushed left-handed pitching this year. In that split, Suzuki is slashing .319/.405/.585, with seven of his 19 home runs in 175 fewer at-bats than against righties.
Lauer has pitched to a 4.86 career ERA at Wrigley Field, and has been burned by the long ball, with four home runs allowed over 16.2 innings. He has surrendered at least one home run in three of his four appearances at the iconic ballpark, and there could be a slew of home runs hit if the wind is blowing out.
Junior Caminero (+226)
Junior Caminero took advantage of the altitude at Coors Field in Monday’s series opener by belting two home runs that each went 422-plus feet. That brought his slugging percentage to the fourth-highest among all qualified sluggers, and I am confidently backing him again today at the most hitter-friendly ballpark in the Majors, even though bettors would have lost $438 blindly betting on Caminero to homer in every game in July.
Caminero entered yesterday on pace for 46 home runs and 100 RBI. He now faces Tomoyuki Sugano, who among the 70 pitchers who threw a minimum of 150 innings last year, had the second-worst HR/9 rate (1.89). The righty allowed 33 home runs overall and a .799 opponents’ OPS as a member of the Orioles last season, and Caminero is ripe for his first hit off Sugano (he is 0-for-3 head-to-head).

Bryce Harper (+240)
Bryce Harper entered yesterday having homered in consecutive games. That helped bring his OPS to 1.113 over the previous eight, after total a .565 OPS in the 22 games before that.
Harper is one of three Phillies who have seemingly carried the team’s offense all season. Bryce Harper, Kyle Schwarber, and Brandon Marsh entered yesterday combining for a .260/.349/.495 slash line. The three also belted 73 home runs, had a 127 wRC+, and a 5.7 fWAR. That made Philadelphia the only team with just three players (the fewest) with a 100 wRC+ or higher (min. 100 PA with Philadelphia).
Meanwhile, the rest of the Phillies position players combined for a .226/.283/.357 slash line. They also had two fewer home runs than the slugging trio (71), and combined for a 75 wRC+ and 3.1 fWAR.
As long as Harper isn’t bothered by the transition back to the outfield, I like his chances to go deep off Jake Irvin tonight.
