MLB NLCS Game 6 Picks & Predictions: Mets vs. Dodgers (Sunday)
The American League side is set. The New York Yankees will be playing in the World Series for the first time since 2009.
However, we’re still waiting for the winner of the NLCS between the New York Mets and Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Dodgers secured Game 1, but the Mets stormed back for Game 2. When the Mets got home, the Dodgers snuck in two wins, but the Mets responded with a Game 5 victory and pushed the series to 3-2. The Dodgers just need one more to win and make it to the World Series. But you can never count out the “Never Say Die Mets.”
Here’s a best bet for tonight’s Game 6 NLCS matchup in Dodger Stadium.

New York Mets vs. Los Angeles Dodgers
The New York Mets will roll with Sean Manaea tonight. The lefty has ultimately been New York’s best starting pitcher since the second half.
Manaea is currently 2-0 with a 2.65 ERA in the postseason. He also held the Dodgers to three runs (two earned) with just two hits, four walks, and seven strikeouts. Manaea must keep the walks down against the Dodgers, who are always super patient at the plate.
The Dodgers’ projected lineup has hit a .246 ISO and wOBA of .378 against lefties over the last month. The lineup has also struck out below 20% of the time and has worked more than 7% of walks.
Meanwhile, Manaea has held his last 114 batters faced to a .288 wOBA and has allowed just 15% of line drives while inducing 46.2% of ground balls. He hasn’t earned a high strikeout rate but has held walks to 7%. Those walk numbers increased after his last start, but he’s been very good at keeping walks down throughout the season.
On the other hand, the Dodgers will roll with a bullpen game. In the last bullpen game, the Dodgers allowed seven runs, including a grand slam to Mark Vientos. It was mainly Landon Knack that was rocked. The rookie right-hander allowed five runs on five hits and three walks with only two strikeouts. He gave up the grand slam.
If the Mets see Knack again tonight, they’ll be licking their chops. Most of Los Angeles’ bullpen has been fantastic. However, Ryan Brasier, Knack, and Enrique Hernandez are three pitchers who the Mets would likely love to see again.
While the Mets should have their way offensively, the Dodgers won’t be easy, especially given the opportunity to adjust against Manaea.
We’ll back the Over 8.5.
Pick: Over 8.5 (-105)
