Sunday's Best MLB No Runs First Inning Picks

(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)

Toronto Blue Jays (+152) vs. Los Angeles Dodgers (-187) | 8.5 (-119/-102)

Starting Pitchers: Eric Lauer vs. Tyler Glasnow

Let's head out west to get things started. The Dodgers (68-49) are looking to complete the sweep of the Blue Jays (68-50), and they'll turn to Tyler Glasnow to try and get them there. Toronto counters with Eric Lauer in this interleague clash, which gets underway at 4:10 p.m. ET from Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, CA.

Like the Dodgers, the NRFI is 2-0 in this series. With this pitching matchup between two solid starters, I expect a third consecutive NRFI to cash. Tyler Glasnow has looked good this year, bringing in a 3.06 ERA and a 1.09 WHIP in 10 starts (47.0 IP). He has limited Toronto's current roster to a slash line of .173/.283/.288 over 52 at-bats. That includes their key hitters of Davis Schneider (1-2), Ernie Clement (0-2), Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (5-14), and Bo Bichette (1-14), who are a combined 7-32 (.219) against him.

As for the bottom of the first, we'll be leaning on Eric Lauer. The left-hander has sneakily been one of the better pitchers in the Majors this season, going 7-2 with a 2.59 ERA and a 0.98 WHIP. He hasn't faced Shohei Ohtani, but the other notable Los Angeles hitters of Mookie Betts (3-12), Freddie Freeman (3-11), and Max Muncy (5-20) are a combined 11-43 (.256) against him. With Lauer's current form, I think he'll do enough to escape the first inning scoreless.

Bet: NRFI (-110)

Tampa Bay Rays (+157) vs. Seattle Mariners (-194) | 7.5 (+102/-124)

Starting Pitchers: Adrian Houser vs. Bryan Woo

The Mariners (65-53) have won six straight contests, and they'll try to keep the streak alive tonight when they send Bryan Woo to the bump. The Rays (57-61) opt for Adrian Houser in the series finale. First pitch is scheduled for 4:10 p.m. ET from T-Mobile Park in Seattle, WA.

In my opinion, it's only a matter of time until Bryan Woo is in the mix for an A.L. Cy Young Award. The 25-year-old budding superstar enters this contest with a 3.02 ERA (16th) and a 0.94 WHIP (fifth). He's tasked with slowing down a Tampa offense that's 25th in wOBA (.266) and owns the third-highest K% (28.5%) over the last seven days.

Adrian Houser has been another great success story this season. The right-hander just came over from the White Sox at the deadline, and he's 6-3 this season, owning a 2.54 ERA and a 1.29 WHIP. Houser has held Seattle's top-of-the-lineup hitters in check, as Randy Arozarena (0-4), Cal Raleigh (1-2), and Julio Rodriguez (0-2) are a combined 1-8 (.125) against him. Tampa's also a profitable 31-25 (55%) to the NRFI on the road.

Bet: NRFI (-125)

Chicago Cubs (-126) vs. St. Louis Cardinals (+104) | 7.5 (-120/-102)

Starting Pitchers: Shota Imanaga vs. Sonny Gray

All roads lead to a Sunday Night Baseball showdown between the Cubs (67-49) and the Cardinals (59-59). Shota Imanaga gets the nod for Chicago, while St. Louis sends Sonny Gray to the bump. First pitch is slated for 7:10 p.m. ET from Busch Stadium in St. Louis, MO.

Sonny Gray (4.21 ERA) is coming off a gem against the Dodgers on Monday, where he held them to one earned run over 7.0 innings of work. Up next, the right-hander will take on a Cubs offense that has been struggling, ranking 23rd in wOBA (.274) and 24th in ISO (.123) over the last seven days. Gray's ERA dips to 3.52 at home this season, so look for him to get the game started with a scoreless frame.

As for Shota Imanaga (3.12 ERA), he has been a thorn in the side of the Cardinals during his first two seasons in the MLB. The southpaw has held their current roster to a slash line of .160/.176/.260 over 50 at-bats. St. Louis is 18th in wOBA (.310) and 26th in ISO (.111) over the last seven days. They're also scoring only 0.31 runs per first inning this season, which is dead last in the Majors. Give me the NRFI in tonight's MLB nightcap.
