Friday’s Best MLB No Runs First Inning (NRFI) Picks

(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)

This Season: 7-5 | Last Week: 0-3

Tampa Bay Rays vs. San Diego Padres

Starting Pitchers: Shane Baz vs. Michael King

This is one of the best NRFI matchups of the season, with Shane Baz’s 3-1 NRFI record going up against Michael King’s 4-1 NRFI record. Both teams have scored a first-inning run in more than 50% of the season, but with these pitchers on the mound, I expect a quick six up and six down.

Play: NRFI (-140)

Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Los Angeles Dodgers

Starting Pitchers: Paul Skenes vs. Yoshinobu Yamamoto

We have another rock-solid NRFI pitcher matchup with two of the best young arms in the game in Paul Skenes vs. Yoshinobu Yamamoto. Skenes has not allowed a first-inning run this season (5-0), and Yamamoto has only allowed one first-inning run (4-1). Both teams have scored a first-inning run in fewer than 50% of games this season.

Play: NRFI (-145)

Texas Rangers vs. San Francisco Giants

Starting Pitchers: Nathan Eovaldi vs. Justin Verlander

We go from the young guns to a matchup of veterans with Nathan Eovaldi and Justin Verlander. Both pitchers come into today with identical 4-1 NRFI records. Both teams have a 50% hit rate or better on the NRFI.

Play: NRFI (-150)

We may be laying a decent bit of juice today, but these are my most confident NRFI picks for the day.
