MLB Odds, Picks & Predictions: Monday (10/6)
The two National League Division Series matchups take center stage on Monday as the two American League series are off until Tuesday. The two favorites to win each series, the Dodgers and Brewers, were each victorious on Saturday, but do I see each two Game 2 contests playing out any differently?

Monday’s Best MLB Picks & Predictions
(Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook)
Los Angeles Dodgers (-132) at Philadelphia Phillies (+109) | O/U 7.5 (-106/-115)
After Saturday's 5-3 loss in Game 1, Philadelphia has now lost four of its last five home playoff games, after going 12-2 straight up (SU) in its previous 14 since 2022. Los Angeles is a rightful -132 road betting favorite with ace Blake Snell on the mound, whom I expect to lead the Dodgers to a dominant 2-0 series lead.
Snell is coming off his first postseason start of at least seven innings in the Wild Card Round, and his nine strikeouts tied his most in a playoff start in his career. Snell has now allowed just three runs over 26 innings in his last four starts, dating back to the regular season, which includes holding the Phillies to two hits over seven scoreless innings while striking out a season-high 12 batters.
With this wager, I am bucking the trend that the Phillies are 15-0 in their last 15 games following a home loss. But they are also just 4-4 in Jesus Luzardo's last eight starts, and 2-5 in his previous seven against 2025 playoff teams.
Pick: Dodgers Moneyline (-132)
Chicago Cubs (+101) at Milwaukee Brewers (-123) | O/U 8.0 (-109/-112)
Milwaukee knocked Cubs southpaw Matthew Boyd out of Game 1 after just 30 pitches, as its six-run first inning was tied for its highest-scoring inning in franchise postseason history. With another lefty on the mound, I am expecting big things from the Brewers’ offense, led by Brice Turang.
Brewers left fielder Jackson Chourio left the team's Game 1 victory after going 3-for-3 in his first three at-bats, as he felt tightness in his right hamstring. Even if he plays at less than 100%, I expect Turang to fill in as the sparkplug at the top of the lineup.
Turang bats in front of Christian Yelich and William Contreras, both of whom have a .964 OPS or better in 20 combined career at-bats against Shota Imanaga. I would not be surprised to see Milwaukee's coaching staff use Turang's speed when he gets on base, as the team ranked in the top 10 with 23 stolen bases in September.
Pick: Brice Turang Over 0.5 Runs (+118)
