MLB Player Prop Bet Odds, Picks & Predictions: Wednesday (5/10)

There’s baseball on the schedule throughout the day!

For many teams, it’s a getaway day, meaning teams will play earlier to travel to their next destination for the weekend series.

I will be looking at some of the later games on the slate. I’ve added multiple player props you should consider today in the MLB. Let’s earn some profit!

Wednesday’s Best MLB Player Props

(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)

San Diego Padres vs. Minnesota Twins

Pablo Lopez will take the hill for the Twins tonight. He’s struck out 28.8% of batters over the last 30 days and will face a Padres lineup with plenty of batters striking out at a high rate against righties.

But before we get into all the strikeout numbers, I should also make it clear that Lopez should be able to pitch deep into tonight’s game. He’s got an xFIP of 3.73 and has walked only 4.5% of batters over the last month. He’s also allowed a BABIP of .354 in the last month. That number should decline over the next couple of starts with how he’s pitching.

Anyway, the Padres have six batters striking out at least 22.6% of the time against righties over the last 30 days. Matt Carpenter has struck out nearly 38% of the time, while Ha-Seong Kim and Trent Grisham are striking out around 30% each. There are plenty of candidates in this lineup. So let’s take Lopez to get over 6.5 strikeouts at plus money.

Bet: Pablo Lopez Over 6.5 Ks (+104)

Chicago White Sox vs. Kansas City Royals

This isn’t the most interesting game on the slate. But Brad Keller is on the mound, and I’m ready to attack.

Keller has a 6.52 xFIP over the last 30 days for the Royals. He’s struck out 14% of batters and has walked 18.4% in that same time frame. Lefties are hitting a .414 wOBA and ISO of .176 against Keller last month.

The White Sox haven’t been a top-hitting team in the league. But someone’s got to hit. Gavin Sheets is a lefty with a .222 ISO and wOBA of .346 with only 13.8% of strikeouts against righties over his last 58 plate appearances against righties.

I like Sheets to make an impact with an extra-base hit against Keller tonight.

Bet: Gavin Sheets Over 1.5 Total Bases (-105)

St. Louis Cardinals vs. Chicago Cubs

Justin Steele will take the hill for the Cubs tonight. He’s been tremendous and one of the better surprises in baseball to begin the year.

However, while he has a 4.09 xFIP, high ground balls, and low line drives allowed, he’s only struck out 20.5% of batters over the last 30 days.

He’s doing everything well but earning high strikeouts. The Cardinals have four batters in the lineup striking out at a high rate. But they’ve also got five batters striking out against lefties 16.7% of the time or fewer. He will have a hard time earning consistent strikeouts against this projected Cardinals lineup.

Bet: Justin Steele Under 5.5 Ks (-152)
