Wednesday’s Best MLB Player Props

(Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook)

Max Fried Over 5.5 Ks (+104)

Max Fried only threw 72 pitches in his first start back with the Braves. But as he throws more, he’ll pitch longer until he returns to 100 pitches a night.

Fried struck out 44.4% of right-handed batters in his return. Throughout the season, he’s struck out 27.7% of right-handed batters.

He’ll face a Pittsburgh lineup that will likely have eight righties tonight. The Pirates lineup has combined to strike out 27% of the time against lefties in the last month. They’ve got five batters striking out at least 25% of the time against lefties.

Fried has enough targets, even if he only throws five innings. Take him to get at least six strikeouts tonight.

Matt Olson Over 1.5 Total Bases (-120)

Let’s stay in the same game. Quinn Priester will take the mound for the Pirates tonight. He’s a rookie pitcher, giving up a .333 ISO and wOBA of .465 to his first 52 left-handed batters.

Priester has only struck out 17% of batters and has allowed over 26% of fly balls and line drives to lefties this season. He’s also allowing over 44% of hard contact while earning under 9% of swinging strikes.

Meanwhile, Matt Olson has hit a .435 ISO and wOBA of .484 over the last month against righties. He’s also smacked 37% of fly balls and line drives and has hit over 78% of hard contact.

Olson’s the most powerful hitter in the National League. Take him to earn at least two total bases in tonight’s game.

Yordan Alvarez Over 1.5 Total Bases (-105)

I think Jack Flaherty is in a better situation with the Orioles. But I’m still not over his splits against lefties. Flaherty has allowed a .367 ISO and wOBA of .457 to his last 54 lefties. He’s only earned 31.7% of ground balls to lefties over the last month and has allowed nearly 37% of line drives.

On top of that, Flaherty has only struck out 14.8% of lefties in the last 30 days.

This has also been a trend for Flaherty. Throughout the season, he’s struck out only 17.8% of lefties and has allowed a .167 ISO and wOBA of .385 to 281 lefties.

He’ll face Yordan Alvarez, who has slugged a .458 ISO and wOBA of .496 against his last 26 righties. Alvarez has limited strikeouts to 7.7% while hitting 50% of fly balls and line drives against righties.

Alvarez has also hit over 59% of hard contact and has kept ground balls down to 27.3% in the last month.

The left-handed slugger has also hit a 22.7% barrel percentage, which is exceptionally high. Alvarez has all of the potential to go yard tonight. Take him to get at least two total bases.
