Friday’s Best MLB Player Prop Bets

Garrett Crochet Over 5.5 Ks (-120)

The Chicago White Sox held Garrett Crochet back to face the Detroit Tigers tonight. While the Tigers are fighting for an American League Wild Card, the White Sox, Detroit’s rival, are trying to knock them out.

Detroit is in an excellent position to make the playoffs. But the White Sox are still out for blood.

Crochet is a lefty pitcher who has struck out 43.4% of batters over the last month. He’s also held his last 53 batters to a 1.9% walk rate while holding a .289 wOBA. Crochet has literally added 17.7% of swinging strikes and more than 31% of whiffs.

Now he’ll battle a Tigers projected lineup that has struck out 33.6% of the time against lefties. I wouldn’t be surprised if Crochet went five innings and recorded 7+ strikeouts.

Sean Manaea Over 6.5 Ks (+125)

The Mets are also competing for a Wild Card spot. As long as the Mets win out the rest of their games, they’ll make the playoffs. With that in mind, New York will send Sean Manaea against the Brewers tonight.

Manaea has struck out 27.4% of batters over the last 30 days and has held his previous 124 batters to a .115 ISO and wOBA of .211. He’s earned 12.8% of swinging strikes and has added 26% of whiffs. He’s also limited line drives to 19% and has allowed only 7.3% of walks.

Manaea has been excellent. New York will expect him to be just as excellent in tonight’s (kind of) must-win game.

Justin Turner Over 1.5 Total Bases (+135)

The Seattle Mariners have failed to make the MLB postseason. They’ve only made the postseason once since 2001 and won’t have a chance this season.

But they’ll still play out the season. The right-handed bats in the Seattle lineup have a good matchup against J.P. Sears. Sears is a left-handed thrower who has allowed a .187 ISO and wOBA of .338 to 585 righties this season. He’s also allowed 51% of hard contact and has struck out just 17.1% of righties throughout the season.

The stats have been very similar over the last month as well.

Meanwhile, Justin Turner has socked a .241 ISO and wOBA of .416 in the last month against lefties. He’s also struck out just 11.1% of the time against lefties and continues to get in hitters counts. It’s why he’s been able to launch 46.2% of fly balls and 30.8% of line drives against lefties over the last 30 days.

Let’s take Turner to add at least two total bases in tonight’s contest against the Athletics.
