Top 3 MLB Player Prop Bets & Picks: Wednesday (Dodgers vs. Mets)

The New York Mets will get their first home game of the NLCS tonight. The NLCS is tied 1-1 after the Dodgers earned Game 1 and the Mets took Game 2.

With the Game 2 victory, the Mets now have home-field advantage. All New York has to do is win their next three games at home from today until Friday. But it’s clearly a lot harder than it sounds!

The Dodgers will use veteran righty Walker Buehler. Buehler has struggled throughout the season, allowing a .218 ISO and a wOBA of .374 to 368 batters this year.

On the other hand, the Mets will roll with Luis Severino. He’s limited power better than Buehler but has still allowed a .314 wOBA to 814 batters.

With this in mind, here are three player props to consider for tonight’s NLCS Game 3.

Shohei Ohtani Over 1.5 Total Bases (-110)

While Shohei Ohtani hasn’t been elite during the playoffs, he’s got a great matchup tonight.

Ohtani has still hit a .421 ISO and wOBA of .575 against his last 65 righties. He’s also struck out below 17% of the time against righties and has hit 67.4% of hard contact with a 32.6% barrel percentage.

He’ll take on Luis Severino of the Mets, who has allowed a .250 ISO and wOBA of .430 to his last 43 lefties. Those 43 lefties have added 45.2% of hard contact and have hit 29% of fly balls against Severino. Severino has also induced just 35.5% of ground balls and has added only 11.1% of swinging strikes against lefties.

Ohtani has a real chance to get back on track offensively in tonight’s game against the Mets.

Max Muncy Over .5 Total Bases (-130)

Max Muncy looks just as good as another lefty facing Severino.

Against Severino, he has allowed a .250 ISO and wOBA of .430 to his last 43 lefties. Muncy has hit a .182 ISO and wOBA of .395 against his last 59 righties. He’s also struck out below 17% of the time and is patient at the plate. He’ll wait for the right pitch.

Furthermore, Muncy has added more than 41% of fly balls and has hit just 23.5% of ground balls against righties in the last 30 days. He’s also launched 26.5% of line drives and has a BABIP of .303.

Muncy is undoubtedly in line for a big day against Severino.

Mark Vientos Over 1.5 Total Bases (+145)

Over the last 30 days, Mark Vientos has knocked a .228 ISO against his last 59 righties. He’s also smashed a .326 wOBA and has hit 30.6% of line drives and fly balls against righties in the previous 30 days.

Vientos has also made 55.6% of hard contact and earned an 11.1% barrel percentage, which has led to a .344 BABIP, the second-best number on the Mets.

The Mets’ third baseman has hit an insane run during the postseason. Now he’ll take on Walker Buehler of the Dodgers, who has allowed a .208 ISO and wOBA of .364 to 178 righties this season. Over the last 30 days, he’s also allowed a .200 ISO and wOBA of .407 against his last 28 righties.

Beyond that. Buehler has given up 65.2% of hard contact to righties and has struck out only 10.7% of righties over the last 30 days. Vientos can show off even more power tonight.
