E-Rod is one of the three Discount Dogs available, with his line shortened to 4.5. Personally, I’d save your Dog for another starter I’ll mention in a bit. I wrote this up last night on Twitter when the line was at 5.5, and I still like this play even at 6 Ks. Rodriguez gets a dream matchup against the Royals, who have the highest K% (31.2%) and 7th worst wRC+ (78) against left-handed pitching over the last 30 days. E-Rod had 9 Ks across 5 innings vs. them on 5/23 and has 6+ strikeouts in 8 of his last 10 starts averaging 7.2 per outing over this span.
